Prior to his debut, Seunghwan was involved in a scandal due to the leakage of private images online. After promoting his debut track “Get A Guitar,” he publicly apologized, saying, “I sincerely regret the distress I have caused to my fans and the RIIZE members. I recognize that I need to put in more effort and better myself.” This incident resulted in a halt to his promotional activities indefinitely.

A year later, SM Entertainment officially declared that Seunghwan would rejoin RIIZE’s activities starting in November, indicating that the group would continue as a seven-member team moving forward.

In a personal letter, Seunghwan expressed, “When the pre-debut pictures surfaced, I felt deep disappointment and remorse for my actions. I apologize to my steadfast fans and to the members who should have been working alongside me. I also want to express my sorrow to those who faced challenges because of my sudden pause in activities.”
