The 1st Korean Global Music Awards (KGMA) took place on November 16 at the Inspire Arena in Unseo-dong, Jung-gu, Incheon. The first day of this two-day celebration, themed “Artist Day,”was hosted by Hanni from NewJeans and actress Nam Ji-hyun.

NewJeans: A Stellar Performance

In a significant highlight, NewJeans was honored with the prestigious 2024 Grand Artist Award, recognized as the pinnacle of accolades at the ceremony. The group’s impressive track record includes emerging as the 5th top seller in CD sales in the United States last year, showcasing their impact on the global music scene.

During their acceptance speech, the members of NewJeans radiated joy and appreciation. The 2024 Grand Honor’s Choice Award was awarded to ZEROBASEONE. Their third mini-album “You Had Me at Hello” garnered attention, being listed among Billboard’s “20 Best K-pop Albums of the First Half of 2024.”

Members Kim Gyu-vin and Sung Han-bin shared their appreciation, saying, “Receiving this award on such a significant platform is an honor. We owe this success to our devoted fans, ‘ZEROSE.’ We pledge to uphold our commitment to them.”
