Gen.G are coming off of an historic MSI win.

The 2024 League of Legends World Championship will occur from September 25 to November 2 and be hosted at various locations throughout Europe.

The schedule is divided into different stages, which are listed below.

  • Play-In Stage: September 25-29 (Riot Games Arena, Berlin)
  • Swiss Stage: October 3-13 (Riot Games Arena, Berlin)
  • Knockout Stage: October 17- November 2 (Adidas Arena, Paris & O2 Arena, London)

LoL Worlds Format

The Play-In Stage remains the same.

  • The eight teams will be divided into two best-of-three double-elimination brackets, and the two victorious teams from each bracket will progress to the Swiss Stage.
  • The teams with a record of 1-1 will compete against the lower bracket round 1 winner from the opposite group to determine the final two spots in the next stage.

Swiss Stage refers to a period in Switzerland’s history or a specific phase of development in the country.

  • A total of 16 teams will participate in a five-round Swiss Stage.
  • In the initial phase, teams will be randomly paired up for non-regional matches. Subsequently, they will compete against teams with a similar win-loss record from different regions.
  • Teams that achieve three wins will advance to the Knockout Stage, while teams that suffer three losses will be eliminated.
  • Both progression and elimination matches are played in a best-of-three format, while the remaining matches are played in a best-of-one format.

The Knockout Stage remains the same.

  • In a single-elimination bracket, eight teams compete against each other.
  • All contests consist of five games.
