G-Dragon Returns to Full-scale Activities
When the year 1988 is mentioned, one of the most iconic figures that pops up is G-Dragon, the well-known singer and leader of Big Bang.
On October 22, 2024, the “King of K-pop”announced his participation in the upcoming MAMA Awards, marking his first appearance at the ceremony in nine years. This announcement spread rapidly across social media, creating much buzz. It’s particularly significant as this is one of the rare moments the artist will join an awards event since his military discharge in 2019.
Moreover, G-Dragon is busy working on his upcoming album. While he originally planned to release new music in October, he has decided to postpone his comeback and is now aiming for a return in November of this year.
Taeyang: What New Track Will He Unveil?
Last January, Taeyang collaborated with BTS member Jimin for the single “VIBE (feat. Jimin of BTS).”
This track marked Taeyang’s return to solo work after a break of over five years since his last release in August 2017. He also made headlines for signing with The Black Label following the end of his contract with YG Entertainment.
In April, Taeyang released his EP titled “Down to Earth.”
Furthermore, Taeyang held his solo concert for 2024, named THE LIGHT YEAR. This significant event took place over two days on August 31 and September 1 at Olympic Park in Seoul. It also marked Taeyang’s first solo concert in seven years.
Jessi: The Unmatched Solo Star
The year 2024 has been quite challenging for Jessi. An ongoing controversy stems from an incident in which a fan was assaulted while trying to take a photo with her. In response, Jessi visited the police station to assist with the investigation into the assailant.
In addition, she has parted ways with her management agency. DOD Entertainment confirmed to media platform Tenasia that Jessi has officially left the company only a month after signing with them, stating her departure was at her own request.
Max Changmin: Future Endeavors to Look Forward To
Max Changmin of TVXQ, who celebrated 20 years since his debut last year, is another celebrated figure from the 1988 birth cohort.
Even after tying the knot in 2020, Max Changmin continues to captivate audiences with his dynamic performances.
Fans are excited to see him remain a prominent figure as a member of TVXQ for years to come.
