In a recent survey conducted by News1, industry professionals within the K-pop realm were queried about their most eagerly anticipated artist for 2025. A total of 34 experts from various music agencies participated, each selecting one artist or group and explaining their choice. BTS emerged as the overwhelming favorite, securing 5 votes.

BTS: The Indelible Impact of Their Hiatus

Despite being on a temporary hiatus due to military service obligations, the influence of BTS remains significant. The group initiated this break during their peak popularity. Jin enlisted in December 2022, followed by J-Hope in April 2023. Suga began his alternative service in September 2023, while RM, V, Jimin, and Jungkook are slated to commence their military duties in December 2023.

Even during this hiatus, the BTS members have continued to release solo projects that resonate with audiences worldwide. Notably, Jungkook’s single “Seven (feat. Latto)” soared to position No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in July 2023, while his full-length album “Golden” debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 in November 2023, illustrating the group’s enduring global impact.

Their dominance in K-pop continued throughout their hiatus, making their return even more thrilling.” This expert highlighted the immense ripple effect their return could have, stating, “Just the news of BTS’s return is enough to cause HYBE’s stock prices to surge, indicating their unparalleled influence on the K-pop landscape.”

Following BTS in the rankings was G-Dragon from BIGBANG, who received 4 votes. After releasing his single “POWER” in 2024, excitement is building for his upcoming third full-length album, which is expected to feature the pre-release single “HOME SWEET HOME,” as well as collaborations with fellow BIGBANG members Taeyang and Daesung, hinting at a partial group reunion.
