21st Century’s Most Beloved Boy Group: BTS Overtakes BIGBANG

A recent survey conducted by Star News in partnership with research agency Gallup Korea targeted 1,052 individuals between the ages of 19 and 69 from across the country, and found that BTS (RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, Jungkook) received 74% of the votes in the question “Who is the most beloved K-pop boy group (debuted in the 21st century)?”(offering 2 multiple-choice options).

BTS has solidified their position as the nation’s adored boy group. They have taken the K-pop world by storm, topping music charts both in their home country and abroad. Their albums consistently dominate the charts, and in 2021, they made history as the first Asian artist to be awarded Artist of the Year at the American Music Awards, further cementing their worldwide appeal.

Despite each of BTS’s 7 members having distinct personalities, they continue to showcase their immense influence whether together as a group or through their impressive solo activities. Despite most of the members currently serving in the military, their content continues to generate buzz and fuel anticipation for their return as a complete group.

Despite facing tough competition, BTS’s immense popularity is evident in the survey results as they received more than double the support of the group in second place. Their widespread appeal was consistent among both genders (74% each) and across all age ranges, including 19-29 years (67%), 30s (66%), 40s (76%), 50s (83%), and 60s (74%).
