25 College Football Players Discover Trick to Change Player Numbers in Dynasty Mode

A group of 25 college football players have discovered a loophole that permits them to make changes to their Dynasty team, but there is a condition attached to it.

On Aug. 8, CFB released its initial major update. Fans of the Dynasty mode expressed their dissatisfaction with the illogical simulation logic and various recruitment glitches in the game.

EA addressed community feedback by resolving a problem with recruiting visits and decreasing the variability in the College Football Playoff poll algorithm.

Furthermore, the patch weakened FCS schools and increased the difficulty for smaller schools to attract highly talented recruits.

Despite this, there were still fans who remained optimistic that the update would allow for users to modify their player numbers. However, as the update failed to materialize, members of the community took matters into their own hands.

A player shared a detailed guide on altering a player’s number on Reddit, but it is only applicable to quarterbacks.

  1. If players have the same number go into their edit player menu in Dynasty
  2. Flick the left stick left and right a few times on the number option
  3. Press A on Xbox or X on PlayStation to conform the change
  4. Back out, and the quarterback’s number will be changed

We conducted a Stanford Dynasty mode save and verified that this method is effective by altering the jersey number of a cornerback from nine.

Following those steps, the quarterback’s ranking went from fourth to ninth.

To successfully execute this trick, it is necessary to have two players on your team with identical numbers.

The original poster stated that one could utilize the same technique to convince a defensive player to switch to the number 21, and so on. While this may not be successful every time, the poster did manage to change the numbers of three players to allow their quarterback to wear the number 8.

In the event that a player on the roster chooses to wear either number zero or 49, it is improbable that there will be another player with the same number.

Despite the current limitations, community members remain optimistic that EA will eventually allow players to have complete control in future updates. In the meantime, this is the only available choice.
