Lucas Coly, the talented French-American social media influencer and rapper, has tragically passed away at the young age of 27, as confirmed by his manager.
On October 2, Lucas Coly died at his residence in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Independent reported on October 4 that the Clark County Coroner’s Office asserted that Coly died by suicide.
The next morning, his manager publicly paid tribute on Instagram, writing: “Rest in peace @iamlucascoly I love you bro. My heart is shattered. Wait for me up there.”
“Being your manager was one of the reasons I continued on. There’s a void in my heart right now Lucas. We often discussed our struggles but kept smiling for the fans,” he added.
“So many individuals hurt us repeatedly, but we had each other. I’m unsure what to do now. I would be a hypocrite if I told you not to, and then I do the same.”
His manager confirmed that he had spoken with the social media personality shortly before his death, stating: “And for those wondering how I know it’s true…. 1) I was his longtime manager and 2) because I was on the phone with him just moments prior.”
He also requested fans to “Pray for Amber,” referring to the rapper’s long-term girlfriend, Amber H. He urged everyone to respect the privacy of her and Lucas’s close ones while encouraging people to check in on their friends. He expressed remorse for not being able to do more for the 27-year-old.
This statement followed the musical artist’s last post on his Instagram Stories on October 2, where he wrote “I love y’all” accompanied by an orange heart emoji on a black background.
Born in France in 1996, Lucas moved to the United States with his family at the age of eight. He rose to fame on Vine, producing videos of himself rapping in both English and French.
Over the years, the late artist amassed a significant social media following, with 1.2 million followers on Instagram and 470,000 subscribers on YouTube.
He was well-known for his hit songs ‘I Just Wanna,’ ‘Break Ya Back,’ and ‘Numb.’ Additionally, he was a member of a musical group named Diamondz, alongside his friends and fellow internet personalities, Willgotthejuice and Dillyn Troy.
