On June 9th, TUYU announced through their official SNS that they would be discontinuing their activities, citing the arrest of their guitarist-producer Pusu. This notice was posted in accordance with local time.
The group stated that due to Pusu having complete authority over TUYU’s activities, it is challenging for them to make decisions about the future without guidance. As a result, they are currently engaging in discussions with relevant parties to determine the distribution of CDs, digital music, YouTube music videos, and the fan club. They kindly ask for patience during this process.
Additionally, they announced their plans for the future, stating that members Rei and Miro will no longer be pursuing activities as TUYU or be associated with Pusu. They expressed gratitude to all the partners and fans who have shown their support.
On May 31st, the Tokyo Nogata Police Station arrested Pusu at an apartment in Nakano Ward, Tokyo, where a teenage girl had been severely injured with a kitchen knife. Pusu, who was identified as the girl’s boyfriend, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. During questioning, he confessed to stabbing her with the intention of killing her and then himself.
The arrest of Pusu, a crucial member in charge of producing the group’s music, led to the group’s effective disbandment.
