343 Industries announces Halo Infinite’s month-long The Yappening 2 event

Brief overview:

  • 343 Industries recently announced that Halo Infinite will host The Yappening 2 from April 2nd until April 30th.
  • Gamers can use the free Operation Pass to claim 20 tiers of rewards including new gear.
  • The Yappening 2 will feature the Gruntpocalypse where players will battle Grunt enemies in several rounds.

Despite the numerous updates introduced in the past few weeks, 343 Industries’ latest addition to Halo Infinite is the Easy Anti-Cheat System. And according to sources, this is just the beginning as the developers have even more plans to enhance the game in the near future.

According to a recent tweet from 343 Industries, The Yappening 2 will commence on April 2nd as part of the Halo Infinite experience. Fans can anticipate fresh modifications for the Mark VII armor and the debut of a new Corrosion arena map before the end of this month.

Players have the option to obtain a complimentary Operation Pass, which grants access to 20 tiers of rewards such as the Glibnub Special and Abundant Growth armor coatings, the Load Bearing shoulder pad, and the Yapster and Gruntball charms. Alternatively, purchasing the Premium Pass will immediately unlock the Glibnub’s Golden Guns weapon coating as an added bonus.

The upcoming Yappening 2 event will include a Gruntpocalypse in Firefight PvE mode, where players will battle against waves of Grunt enemies. However, the gameplay will differ from the version seen in Halo Reach.

In addition to the new content, Halo Infinite’s in-game shop will also be receiving a restock of premium items. Keep an eye out for the Boggart armor kit and the Conqueror shop bundle.

Despite The Yappening 2 coming to an end on April 30th, players can continue to earn any remaining rewards even after the event has officially concluded. The current Operation Pass system allows those with the Premium Pass to claim new gear even after April 30.

Currently, there is limited information available about The Yappening 2 from 343 Industries. It is anticipated that a blog post will be published on Halo Waypoint in the near future. This month-long event is set to introduce a plethora of fresh and thrilling content to Halo Infinite. Additionally, it is worth noting that we are only a few months into 2024.
