One of the main draws for many fans of Jujutsu Kaisen is the constant threat of death that looms over the characters. This is particularly evident in the current manga arc, where the protagonists are engaged in a fierce battle against the formidable sorcerer, Ryomen Sukuna. Widely recognized as the strongest sorcerer in history, Sukuna is a formidable opponent who has presented a monumental challenge for the protagonists. In fact, he even managed to defeat and kill Satoru Gojo, a character who was previously believed to be nearly invincible by most fans.
Despite the events of chapter 258 in the manga, it appears that Sukuna is on the verge of unleashing his full power. It will be intriguing to witness which Jujutsu Kaisen characters will prevail and who will fall. With that in mind, here are four characters who may meet their demise against Sukuna in the upcoming chapters, and four others who are probably safe. Four Characters from Jujutsu Kaisen Who May Fall to Sukuna in Upcoming Chapters
1. Choso
One of the top contenders among Jujutsu Kaisen characters who may perish in a battle against Sukuna is Choso. This is due to the character’s numerous injuries sustained during the fight and the uncertainty of their fate.
Despite his close bond with Yuji Itadori as brothers, Choso is still considered an outsider due to his status as a Cursed Womb and struggles to fit in with the human race. Yuta Okkotsu
Yuta’s situation stands out among the Jujutsu Kaisen characters as it remains uncertain. After Yuji Itadori attempted to assist Megumi Fushiguro, who declined his offer, Ryomen Sukuna intervened by using his slashes to separate Yuji and Yuta before engaging in a fight with Maki Zen’in.
Despite being shown in only 258 published chapters so far, Yuta is not likely to be killed off by Akutami without a proper conclusion to his journey. Given his power and abilities, it is highly possible that Yuta will make a reappearance in the upcoming few chapters and assist his allies, even if it ultimately leads to his demise at the hands of the King of Curses.
Takuma Ino
In the same manner as Ui Ui, Ino is a character from Jujutsu Kaisen who has exceeded expectations in the fight against Sukuna. Despite being significantly weaker than his adversary, Ino has continuously returned to the battlefield, driven by his desire to honor his mentor, Nanami Kento, and to aid in the world’s salvation.
Despite this, it is clear that Ino is the least developed and significant character in the ongoing battle, which suggests that his fate is likely sealed among the Jujutsu Kaisen characters who will perish in the upcoming chapters. Should Sukuna unleash his full power, Ino stands little chance of survival.
Four Characters from Jujutsu Kaisen Who Will Survive Against Sukuna
Zen’in
Although Maki is a beloved character among fans, it can be argued that she has been the weakest link in the battle against Sukuna since Hajime Kashimo’s swift defeat. This can be attributed to her lack of Cursed Energy, forcing her to rely solely on her physical strength and combat abilities. However, it appears that Akutami’s writing has also played a role in her success.
Despite being struck by two Black Flashes from Sukuna and multiple slashes, Maki’s survival is surprising, especially when other characters have succumbed to even weaker attacks from the King of Curses. This suggests that Akutami has a particular attachment to Maki’s character, at least for the time being.
Mei Mei
Out of all the Jujutsu Kaisen characters currently battling Sukuna, Mei Mei is the one that fans most desire to see meet her demise. After deserting her allies and leaving them to perish in Shibuya, as well as her controversial actions involving her younger brother Ui Ui, she has gained notoriety as one of the most despised characters in the series. It would bring satisfaction to many fans to witness her departure from the story.
It appears to be a recurring theme for author Gege Akutami to have Mei Mei always come out unscathed, regardless of the circumstances. This could be seen as a dark sense of humor on the part of the author, or perhaps a commentary on the unjust ways of the world where some people can escape consequences. 3. Miguel

Therefore, it is highly probable that he will also survive.
Character Profile – Yuji Itadori
Yuji stands out as the most likely character to survive the battle against Sukuna among the cast of Jujutsu Kaisen, not only because he is the protagonist, but also because author Gege Akutami has previously mentioned that there is a high chance of all characters perishing except for Yuji. This prediction seems increasingly likely, considering the current events in the manga.
Hence, it wouldn’t come as a shock if Yuji prevails over Sukuna but is ultimately the only one left standing after the conflict. This outcome could have a sorrowful impact on the character as he would be left without his companions. Yet, given the number of individuals Yuji has already lost, it appears to align with Akutami’s vision for this manga.
Final Thoughts
Based on Gege Akutami’s tendency to surprise readers, it is likely that these Jujutsu Kaisen characters will face these fates by the end of the series. Despite this, with the manga nearing its conclusion, it appears that readers will receive their answers in the near future.
