4 Most Relevant One Piece Characters in the Final Saga Who Can Really Reach Laugh Tale (& 4 Who Probably Won’t/Can’t)

After the release of chapter 1121, the One Piece fandom has been buzzing about the characters featured in the closing double spread. These characters include Monkey D. Luffy, Shanks, Blackbeard, Buggy the Clown, Akainu, Imu, Sabo, Monkey D. Dragon, Garling Figarland, Kuzan, Koby, and a mysterious new character who was shown in silhouette.

After reading Dr. Vegapunk’s dialogue leading up to this double spread’s reveal, it is understandable that fans believe these are the One Piece characters who have the best chance of obtaining the coveted treasure. However, even among these characters who are on the brink of reaching it, there are some who may not be able to or choose not to attain it. On the other hand, there are also those who may truly achieve their dream by reaching Laugh Tale.

The Top Characters from One Piece Who May Reach Laugh Tale: The Yonko Reign Supreme

Monkey D. Luffy

It is not surprising that Monkey D. Luffy is considered the most likely character in One Piece to reach Laugh Tale by the end of the series. This is due to the fact that Luffy and his crew have obtained three out of the four Road Poneglyphs needed to reach Laugh Tale. They were able to do so by making rubbings to copy the text on the Poneglyphs.

Despite facing numerous challenges, the crew consistently demonstrates their ability to overcome obstacles and the latest manga spoilers confirm their successful departure from Egghead Island. While they did receive some help in this victory, it serves as further evidence of Luffy and his allies’ potential to reach Laugh Tale.

2) Shanks

The double spread features Shanks and the Red Hair Pirates, the next set of One Piece characters who have the potential to reach Laugh Tale. Their recent defeat of Eustass Kid and his crew has also granted them possession of three out of the four Road Poneglyph texts required to reach Laugh Tale and claim the legendary treasure.

With the consistent portrayal of his incredible strength and the capabilities of his crew, it is highly likely that he will successfully reach the final island of the Grand Line.

3) Pirate Captain Blackbeard (Marshall D. Teach)

It’s not surprising that Blackbeard, also known as Marshall D. Teach, is among the Yonko who have a good chance of reaching Laugh Tale. Similar to Shanks and Luffy, he possesses three of the four Road Poneglyph rubbings due to his victory over Law during the Egghead arc. Additionally, he commands a formidable crew, similar to Luffy and Shanks.

Despite being among other One Piece characters, Blackbeard stands out due to the unique abilities granted by his Devil Fruit and his body. His ability to wield two Devil Fruits and steal them from others sets him apart. With the immense strength of his Yami Yami no Mi in battles, it would be inaccurate to underestimate Blackbeard as a major threat in the pursuit of Laugh Tale and the One Piece.

Kuzan

Kuzan’s potential to reach Laugh Tale is supported by two factors. Firstly, as a high-ranking member of the Blackbeard Pirates with the title of Titanic Ship Captain, he is well-positioned within Blackbeard’s powerful fleet. This suggests that if Blackbeard is capable of reaching Laugh Tale, Kuzan is likely to have the same capability.

Nevertheless, there remains the possibility that Kuzan could potentially make his way to Laugh Tale without the assistance of Blackbeard’s crew by betraying Teach and taking the Road Poneglyph rubbings for his own gain. Despite the lack of substantial evidence to support this theory, it remains true that fans have yet to receive any official information on Kuzan’s true intentions, leaving just as much room for this possibility as there is against it.

The Involvement (or Lack Thereof) of Akainu and Other One Piece Characters in the Race to Laugh Tale

Nero Imu

Although Nerona Imu is determined to stop others from reaching Laugh Tale, he is unlikely to do so by directly participating in the race. It is uncertain if he is aware of the Road Poneglyphs, making it doubtful that he can gather them in time to keep up with the characters who already possess them.

Despite his cautious and secretive nature, the character has made several appearances in the series thus far. As one of the most careful and elusive One Piece characters, it seems unlikely that he would directly involve himself in the race to Laugh Tale, considering the level of attention he would receive. Maintaining his desire for secrecy would likely prevent him from participating.

Garling Figarland

Despite being a One Piece character who could potentially join the race, Garling Figarland is unlikely to do so. This is supported by his titles as the Captain of the Holy Knights and a Celestial Dragon, which would make it difficult for him to justify participating in pirate activities.

As a Celestial Dragon, his beliefs would compel him to essentially betray his status by venturing to Laugh Tale on the Blue Sea. This act could be seen as sacrilegious and potentially result in him losing both his title as a Celestial Dragon and his position as Captain of the Holy Knights, indicating that he is not willing to take such a gamble.

Admiral Akainu

In a similar vein, Fleet Admiral Akainu (also known as Sakazuki) is another One Piece character who could potentially join the race to Laugh Tale, but chooses not to. His beliefs and treatment of pirates as the lowest of the low, deserving no rights or freedom, play a significant role in his decision.

Given this, it is highly improbable that he would consider pursuing the One Piece and venturing to Laugh Tale as it would go against his principles. The only circumstance that could possibly sway him is a significant occurrence that alters his fundamental convictions. However, since such a scenario is improbable to occur before the unveiling of the highly coveted treasure, it is safe to assume that he will not embark on a journey to attain the One Piece and reach Laugh Tale.

New

Sabo (Image via Toei Animation)

Sabo stands out among the One Piece characters in this group, as he is both unable and unwilling to reach Laugh Tale. His position as the second-in-command of the Revolutionary Army is the primary reason for his inability to do so. The Army’s objectives do not require the discovery of Laugh Tale or its treasure, making it unnecessary for Sabo to participate in the race and divert his attention from their important priorities.

The main reason why Sabo is unlikely to pursue Laugh Tale is because of his strong bond with Luffy, who is his adoptive brother. Pursuing Laugh Tale would mean going against Luffy’s dream of becoming the King of the Pirates, which is of utmost importance to him. Therefore, Sabo is more likely to offer his support to Luffy instead of becoming his direct rival.

Conclusion

Despite the vast number of One Piece characters in the series, the aforementioned eight are among the most integral and actively involved in the pursuit of Laugh Tale and its coveted treasure.

Nevertheless, while all of these One Piece characters have some sort of connection to it, there are some who are much more inclined to take pursuing it seriously compared to others.
