The islands in One Piece frequently spark conversations among fans because of their importance in the series and author Eiichiro Oda’s imaginative skill in introducing fresh and captivating ideas. These islands play a crucial role in the plot, generating excitement among fans about what the future arcs will hold.

Recent developments indicate that the Egghead arc in One Piece may be approaching its end in the manga, causing many fans to wonder about the future destination of the Straw Hats. Certain notable One Piece islands may be potential next stops, while others have been ruled out from the start of discussions.

Please note: This article contains spoilers for the series.

4 Possible Next Destinations for the Straw Hats in One Piece

Elbaf is undoubtedly the most probable setting for the next arc in One Piece. This island has been foreshadowed as early as the Little Garden arc, which took place at the beginning of the Grand Line. It would be logical for the Straw Hats to journey there in the upcoming storyline.

Despite the Little Garden Giants’ arrival at Egghead to aid Luffy and his crew and their knowledge of Nika’s history, it remains to be seen if Eiichiro Oda will ultimately choose Elbaf as the next destination for the Straw Hat Pirates. However, these signs do solidify the possibility of Elbaf being a likely choice.

Lodestar

Lodestar is distinct from other One Piece islands for its unmatched sense of anticipation, largely attributed to its depiction as the ultimate destination at the end of the Grand Line. Serving as the final destination for most pirates, it acts as the gateway to Laugh Tales, the fabled location of the One Piece treasure.

It is likely that the Straw Hats may venture to the location now, given the increasing hints in the series that they will eventually have to reach the treasure. Additionally, Shanks, a former member of Gol D. Roger’s crew, possesses knowledge of the path to Lodestar, potentially leading to a reunion with Luffy.

Mary Geoise

Despite its unique structure, the land of the World Government is often speculated to be a potential destination in the One Piece universe. This is supported by theories in the fandom that suggest the Elders of the Gorosei may attempt to kidnap Luffy at the conclusion of the current Egghead arc.

It would be incredibly captivating to witness or read about the Straw Hats losing their leader and journeying into the highly esteemed territory of the World Government to save him. Additionally, it would be logical for the main characters to visit the land of the World Government at least once in the plot.

One Piece’s Legendary Island: Laught Tale

Fans are eagerly anticipating the reveal of Laugh Tale, the ultimate destination and most highly anticipated of the One Piece islands. This is not surprising, considering that it is said to hold the fabled treasure and has been shrouded in mystery and excitement for over a thousand chapters.

Seeing Laugh Tale in the upcoming arc may be a bit premature, but it wouldn’t be unexpected either. Given Oda’s desire to conclude the story, it would be logical to journey to that island in the near future.

4 Reasons Why These One Piece Islands Won’t Be the Next Destination for the Straw Hats

There has been speculation among fans about the possibility of the Straw Hats revisiting Wano in the near future due to the island’s significance in the series’ mythology and their relationships formed there. Furthermore, Eiichiro Oda has recently added a short manga story centered on Yamato’s journey in Wano.

Although the introduction of Yamato, Kaido’s daughter, in this short story implies that the Straw Hats may not be returning to Wano in the near future, it also suggests that the author is allowing Yamato to have her own adventure. Given the length of the Wano arc, it would be unwise for Oda to continue giving it such significant attention.

Fishman Island

Undoubtedly, this One Piece island holds great significance due to the presence of the Noah boat and the prophecy predicting Luffy’s role in its destruction. As the story progresses, this plotline only grows more captivating. However, it is highly unlikely that the Straw Hats will return to this island.

Based on the current progression of the story, it is highly likely that the destruction of the island or the use of the Noah boat will occur without the involvement of the Straw Hats. This plot development carries great significance, but it is nearly impossible for the main characters to return to the location.

State of Alabama

Vivi’s return to the story has brought great joy to fans, as Alabasta remains one of the most beloved One Piece islands thanks to its iconic arc. As a confirmed member of the D Clan, Vivi’s presence is closely tied to important plot points, and it has been hinted that even the World Government leader, Imu, has taken an interest in her.

Despite the possibility, Vivi is more likely to join the Straw Hats in future arcs than returning to Alabasta. Her decision to leave her kingdom and participate in other events solidifies the fact that the Straw Hats will not be revisiting Alabasta anytime soon.

4) Types of Cakes

Similar to Alabasta, Whole Cake Island is another One Piece island where a former ally of the Straw Hats becomes entangled in their story once again. Pudding, who possesses the ability to read the Poneglyph, was abducted by the Blackbeard Pirates, prompting Sanji and the rest of the crew to undertake a rescue mission.

Although this does not necessarily guarantee a return to Whole Cake, it does leave the possibility open for some characters from the Whole Cake arc to reappear, just not the island itself.

Final Thoughts

Although there are numerous One Piece islands that could have significance in the future of the series, the ones mentioned are among the most notable and warrant further exploration.
