With the release of version 3.5, Dehiya became a playable character in Genshin Impact. Her popularity among the players is attributed to her attractive personality and good looks. However, her play style can seem ahead of its time because there aren’t many character compositions that really go well with her, especially when it comes to elemental reactions.
However, for those who enjoy her, she can bring a fresh and new play style that complements existing character rosters by complementing their weaknesses with strengths. We hope that with the introduction of new characters in the future, her true potential will be better realized.
Dehya is meant to be played using her Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst. This makes her a good choice for sub-DPS on teams that use fast switching between other characters, especially if those characters are on Pyro teams with elemental reactions.
While she may not be the strongest DPS character in Genshin Impact, with the right teaming she can offer solid gameplay and a unique play style that sets her apart from the typical popular Reaction Elemental Pyro team lineups. Interestingly, her previous role as Dunyarzad’s bodyguard in the game’s story also matches her current role in command lineups – she can mitigate damage taken by allies and protect them by taking hits on herself.
Option #1: Dehya + Xiangling + Bennett + Kazuha
The mono incendiary team of Bennett, Xiangling, Kazuha and Dehya is a powerful roster with a wide range of abilities and playstyles. Unlike other teams that rely on elemental reactions, this team’s strength lies in the constant damage dealt by the Pyro (Dehya).
The playstyle isn’t too different from other mono Pyros using Klee or Yanfei as their primary DPS; however, this team requires a high energy cooldown to keep Dehya Burst active for maximum Pyro damage.
The strategy of this team is to use the skills of each character in turn, so that they all work together for maximum damage. Also, this team’s roster doesn’t require much investment, as both Bennet and Xiangling have been available since the launch of Genshin Impact as 4-star characters (meaning they didn’t require character cards to level up).
Bennet is the cornerstone of this team as a powerful support hero that can increase the damage and healing of his allies. Kasuha also has significant battery potential, and his main role is to boost the team’s Pyro damage with his Elemental Burst.
Xiangling acts as a sub-DPS thanks to Guoba and her main job is to maximize damage by making sure Dehya is in range of Bennett and Kazuha’s Elemental Burst before activating her own.
Team Role
- Dehya: Sub-DPS, Explosive DPS
- Bennet: Healer, Buffer, Battery
- Kazuha: Buffer, Debuffer
- Xiangling: sub-DPS
Option #2: Dehya + Mona + Kokomi + Sucrose
Dehya, Mona, Kokomi, and Sucrose make up the Vaporize team. The Vaporize team operates differently than other standard Pyro team combinations, which include characters such as Hu Tao. Unlike Hu Tao, Dehiya’s normal attacks do not have a Pyro, so she cannot be used for this purpose with characters like Elan or Shinki.
Also, her Burst animation does not count as a normal attack and does not interact with these characters. However, Dehya can still use Mona’s Elemental Burst in combination with her own Elemental Burst.
This composition takes advantage of the synergy between Kokomi and Dehya by applying Hydro and Pyro respectively, resulting in sequential Vaporize reactions throughout Dehya’s AoE field. The presence of Kokomi and Mona allows for a more consistent application of Hydro and also causes Hydro to resonate, giving Dehya a HP buff.
If players have Sucrose C6, she can also increase the team’s elemental damage through her explosion. Since this combo is less efficient at generating particles compared to the monopyro commands, it is recommended to use sucrose on C1 due to its higher battery potential; however, if you don’t have this team member or C6 isn’t available for purchase yet, Kazucha or Venty are also suitable options.
Team Role
- Dehya: Sub-DPS, Burst DPS, Pyro Enabler
- Kokomi: Healer, Buffer, Hydro Activator
- Sucrose: buffer, debuffer, battery
- Mona: buffer, hydro activator
Option #3: Dehya + Nahida + Kokomi + Candice
Burgeon is a less popular reaction than Nilow and is often used by players. However, this team roster takes advantage of the Dehya Elemental Skill to activate the Burgeon reaction by interacting with the Dendro cores.
This is because her Pyro cast is stable and slow, and her AoE ability can trigger on multiple cores at once without harvesting them. Because this combo focuses on Dehia’s Elemental Mastery rather than her Elemental Burst, it doesn’t depend as much on the characters’ Batter as the other options.
Two of the Vaporize characters, Kokomi and Dehya, are Hydro-types, giving the team extra HP and allowing them to use a reaction ability that reduces damage by 30%. Having a competent healer like Kokomi is crucial, while Dehya can reduce some of the damage on his AoE field.
If players need more basic damage potential, they can replace Candace with Ayato. Combining Kokomi and another hero with Hydro will ensure consistent use of Hydro both on and off the field, and Nahida can generate Dendro cores efficiently.
Team Role
- Dehya: Sub-DPS, Burst DPS, Pyro Enabler
- Kokomi: Healer, Buffer, Hydro Activator
- Nahida: Sub-DPS, Buffer, Dendro Enabler
- Candice: Buffer, Hydro Enabler
Option #4: Dehya + Ganyu + Nahida + Bennett
Dendro, Crio and Pyro do not have a direct elemental reaction. However, the combustion reaction can increase the stability of Dendro’s application and melt Gan’s ice faster.
Dehya has an off-pitch Pyro who isn’t as strong as Xiangling but offers a unique playstyle; continuous use of Dehiya’s cryo reduces the effectiveness of Nahida’s ignite ability. To get the most out of this formulation, a strategic approach to cryo application is needed.
In this lane, the incendiary resonance of Ganyu Melt gives Ganyu and Dehye an ATK buff. In addition, Dehye’s AoE field benefits Gan by giving interrupt resistance and allowing him to reduce damage, thereby freeing up space that Junli used to take. This is how Nahida can fit into the team, otherwise there would be no place in it.
Team Role
- Dehya: Sub-DPS, Burst DPS, Pyro Enabler
- Ganyu: Primary DPS, Melt Enabler
- Nahida: Sub-DPS, Buffer, Dendro Enabler
- Bennet: Healer, Buffer, Battery
