Agatha All Along has numerous questions to address as the highly anticipated follow-up to the acclaimed miniseries WandaVision, so we’ve gathered the key queries for fans to keep an eye on.
2021’s WandaVision significantly shook the Marvel Cinematic Universe, inviting fans to rethink the portrayal of the grief cycle within a superhero narrative.
Since then, viewers have been privy to Wanda Maximoff’s journey, particularly her villainous deeds in Doctor Strange 2, but the fate of the Westview residents remained uncertain until now.
Agatha All Along will explore the titular witch’s quest to reclaim the powers stripped from her by Wanda, while also aiming to resolve several mysteries left unanswered by its predecessor. Here are the top five questions Agatha All Along must resolve before its season finale.
5. Is Wanda Maximoff truly dead?
The narratives of Wanda and Agatha became tightly interwoven following their intense battle at the conclusion of WandaVision.
By harnessing the full power of the Scarlet Witch, Agatha sealed her fate to be confined in Westview as Wanda enacted her revenge for Agatha’s actions against her family.
Although Agatha might seek her own version of revenge on Wanda, it appears that the Scarlet Witch is indeed dead, as evidenced by her being crushed at the conclusion of Doctor Strange 2, alongside trailer imagery from Agatha All Along clearly marking Wanda’s date of death on a morgue tag.
But is Wanda truly gone? Both witches wield powerful abilities through the Darkhold, and it’s not uncommon in the MCU for characters to be presumed dead only to make a comeback.
It would not be surprising for Wanda to resurface towards the conclusion of Agatha All Along, given that this spinoff serves as part two of the WandaVision narrative. Only time will reveal whether Agatha will encounter her Scarlet Witch once more.
4. How did some Westview residents become witches?
Agatha will embark on her journey to regain her powers accompanied by a small coven that includes characters previously seen in WandaVision.
Specifically, we will see the return of Mrs. Hart, who is Vision’s boss’s wife, and Dottie Jones, who is Wanda’s neighbor and rival.
However, apart from Agatha, none of the other residents exhibited magical abilities, leading to questions regarding whether they were witches all along or if Wanda’s curse granted them powers.
While Wanda reset everyone to their usual selves in the WandaVision finale, there’s the possibility that some of the Darkhold magic could have permanently altered them.
Could Agatha have chosen to include Westview citizens to serve as sacrifices as she forges ahead on her perilous quest for power?
3. Is there a bigger bad guy waiting for Agatha on the witches’ road?
Given that Agatha was the surprise villain in WandaVision, there’s speculation that a more malevolent force may be lurking ahead on the witches’ road.
One theory suggests that Agatha could confront Salem’s Seven, her nefarious magical grandchildren, courtesy of her only son, Nicholas Scratch.
Additionally, Agatha may face betrayal from within her coven, as we only know a limited amount about their roles, apart from Jennifer Kale, a skilled sorceress and potions master.
While the witches’ road poses a significant challenge for Agatha, could Marvel introduce another character to heighten the intrigue further?
2. Did one of Wanda’s children become part of Agatha’s coven?
Although the majority of Agatha’s new companions are adult women, she will also be traveling with a teenage boy whose identity remains undisclosed.
Despite the secrecy surrounding his name, there is a strong possibility that the teen who liberates Agatha from the Scarlet Witch’s curse is Billy Maximoff, also known as Wiccan, one of Wanda’s sons.
The last time audiences encountered Billy and Tommy, they were happily living in an alternate universe alongside Wanda’s Earth-838 counterpart in Doctor Strange 2.
Though the Maximoff twins appeared as young children in that film, it’s conceivable that Billy has aged slightly and ventured to Westview to free Agatha, with the hope that she would guide him along the witches’ road.
Currently, the only information available about the witches’ road is the prospect of Agatha regaining her powers if she perseveres to the end.
But what if Wanda’s son intends to use the power at the road’s end to resurrect his mother or bring her into his universe?
One of Billy’s most notable plotlines in the comics is his quest for his original mother, which could serve as his primary motivation in Agatha All Along.
1. Is Agatha Harkness truly a villain at heart?
While Agatha Harkness does exhibit some villainous traits, having killed a dog and threatened to harm innocents, is the purple witch genuinely evil?
Several moments in WandaVision hinted at the humanity lurking beneath her tough exterior.
She helped Wanda confront the grief stemming from the loss of her family and Vision, which ultimately unlocked her true power’s potential.
Furthermore, despite her desire to usurp Wanda’s magic, she chose not to eliminate her when the opportunity presented itself during the various sitcom episodes created by Wanda.
This raises the possibility that Agatha All Along could reveal a more complex character than a traditional villain, despite the likelihood that she may commit various nefarious acts before potentially finding redemption in the eyes of the audience.
