6 Major Questions The Boys Season 4 Finale Must Answer

6 Major Questions The Boys Season 4 Finale Must Answer

Despite having only one more episode left, The Boys season 4 still needs to tie up multiple loose ends and answer lingering questions. While it had a slower beginning in comparison to previous seasons, The Boys season 4 picked up momentum by episode 4 and is now building towards an intense finale.

Despite the approaching finale of the season, the Amazon series still has a lot to unpack before it reaches its endgame in season 5.

What Powers does Billy Butcher have?

Our discovery of Sr. Hughie’s power preceded Billy Butcher’s!

In episode 4 of The Boys season 4, Billy Butcher manages to overpower Ezekiel and brutally kills him, suggesting that he may still have superpowers. However, the show has since maintained a sense of enigma surrounding how he was able to defeat Ezekiel so easily.

As Butcher assumed the role of a supe in The Boys season 3, it is possible that he still possesses some of the abilities he gained during that time. If this is the case, he could potentially have super strength and the ability to emit heat beams from his eyes.

It is likely that he has acquired new abilities, as The Boys season 4 has uncovered the fact that his powers are tied to his alter ego, Kessler. Although the explanation for the worms under Billy Butcher’s skin remains unknown at this point in the season, it is possible that they play a role in his capabilities. We can only hope that the finale of The Boys season 4 will not ignore the mystery surrounding Butcher’s enigmatic superpowers.

2. Will Hughie realize that he is romancing a shapeshifter?

In Episode 7, there are several instances of “poor Hughie,”but the most significant one is when it is revealed that Starlight is a shapeshifter.

Despite being incarcerated, the real Starlight’s whereabouts remain unknown. While the shapeshifter’s intentions are never disclosed in the episode, it is evident that Sister Sage brought her on board to eliminate the lads’ leverage over Neuman.

It seems likely that Sage has plans to use Starlight as a pawn in a larger scheme, as the shapeshifter is specifically targeting her. The details of this plan are still unknown, but hopefully, the season finale will reveal the truth.

Will Ryan leave Homeland?

Homelander’s child displays the same level of instability as Homelander, leaving us all unsure if they are evolving into a second version of the infamous superhero.

In The Boys season 4 episode 7, Ryan’s live television confrontation with Vought’s executives and admission of missing his mother during the holidays brings fresh hope to Billy Butcher. He is pleased to see Ryan standing up for himself and believes it may lead to his eventual departure from Homeland Security.

Despite initially seeming clear-cut, Ryan’s defiance against Vought may not be so straightforward. In Episode 3, Homelander experiences a decline in stability and rationality after going against Vought’s orders and realizing that his immense physical power makes him uncontrollable by anyone else.

Will the boys be able to create the virus without Sameer’s help?

In Episode 7, we witnessed Sameer struggling to create the virus due to either a skill issue or the leg injury he sustained. Unfortunately, the exact cause remains unknown.

Now that he’s gone, the boys will have to find an alternative way to create the virus, as they cannot kill someone as powerful as Victoria Neuman without it.

Because of Frenchie’s extensive knowledge in pharmacology and his assistance to Sameer, there is a possibility that he could replicate the virus.

5. Where is A-Train?

A-Train’s assistance in defeating The Deep and the new Black Noir in episode 7 of season 4 of The Lads brings him closer to redemption. However, his actions raise suspicion and he must go into hiding to avoid Homelander’s discovery of his betrayal, making him look like the mole.

As a result, A-Train makes one last attempt to persuade Ashley to go with him and pays her a visit. However, when Ashley declines, A-Train flees, possibly removing his tracking device before heading to his hideout.

Despite A-Train redeeming himself by aiding the boys, it appears that his story in the series is far from over. In the event that Ashley finds herself in trouble during the finale of season 4, it is possible that he will come back to assist her once again.

Just to clarify, there will be no A-Train and Ashley romance (let’s get that idea out of our minds). However, if A-Train does come back, he will need to proceed with caution as Homelander will not hesitate to eliminate him for his betrayal.

6. Will Starlight’s Powers Finally Return?

We are eagerly anticipating the match between Starlight and Starlight.

On April 4, viewers can tune into Episode 7 of The Boys to witness Starlight’s self-reflection and journey towards reclaiming her powers. Following her clashes with Firecracker in previous episodes, she begins to question her desire to be a superhero and ultimately loses her abilities.

In order to reclaim her abilities, she must confront her identity and reassess her duties as a superwoman while being confined in a dilapidated house. It is imperative that she returns to her original location before the shapeshifter causes further damage.

Nevertheless, there is a small chance that she will not regain her powers, which would enable the shapeshifter to continue causing chaos without any consequences.

Despite the numerous unresolved mysteries in The Boys season 4, it is clear that the show still has much to unravel in its final episode. Given that there is another season of the show before its conclusion, it is expected that some of these questions will remain unanswered in season 4.
