Ways One Piece Anime Ruined Vinsmoke Sanji’s Scenes

7) The Incident of Pekoms’ Sulong Transformation

During their escape from Big Mom’s forces on Whole Cake Island, Pekoms and Luffy joined forces. However, with numerous Big Mom Pirates hindering their path, Pekoms proposed transforming into his Sulong form to distract them and allow Luffy to flee.

Following some deliberation, Luffy ultimately gave in and they charged into the midst of the Big Mom Pirates. However, their progress was interrupted when Pekoms tossed Luffy aside and underwent a transformation into his powerful Sulong form. The anime depicted Sanji coming to Luffy’s rescue, but he ended up sustaining significant injuries from the onslaught of Pekoms’ Sulong form.

Despite Sanji picking up Luffy in the manga, he was still able to escape from Pekoms’ Sulong form. However, in contrast to the One Piece anime which depicted Pekoms’ form overpowering Sanji, the manga shows that it was easily defeated by the Big Mom Pirates’ Commanders.

Sanji’s Weak Ifrit Jambe Against Queen

During the Onigashima Raid in the Wano arc, Sanji faced off against Queen, one of Kaido’s Beast Pirate commanders. Throughout the battle, Sanji strategically refrained from utilizing his germa suit and instead relied on his Ifrit Jambe technique to take down the formidable opponent.

In both the One Piece anime and manga, Sanji’s Ifrit Jambe attack hit Queen, who initially appeared unfazed and even laughed. However, in the manga, the attack impaled Queen and caused significant injury to the Beast Pirate.

5) Sanji’s Lecherous Moments

As many fans are aware, Sanji’s character is that of a lecherous man, although he does maintain respect towards women. However, in the One Piece anime, his degenerate tendencies are greatly emphasized compared to the manga, particularly in the infamous nosebleed scenes.

During the Whole Cake Island arc, Sanji and Pudding were moments away from appearing in front of the audience as newlyweds. Pudding then requested that Sanji kiss her, as they were about to exchange vows and become husband and wife.

After being told this, Sanji experienced his usual nosebleed, but this time it was so intense that he flew through the roof and landed on the ceiling. However, in the manga, this extreme event did not occur.

Sanji’s Act of Saving Vegapunk Edison

During the Egghead arc, following Stussy’s betrayal of the CP0 and her capture of both members, she declared that she was unable to override Lucci’s orders to the Seraphim to destroy Punk Records. Vegapunk Shaka confirmed that Lilith and Edison were on their way to address this matter.

Upon their arrival, Lilith immediately provoked the Seraphim and was soon attacked. As Edison arrived, he wasted no time in giving an order for the Seraphim to cease their attack. However, before he could intervene, S-Shark had already launched an attack on him. Luckily, Sanji was quick to react and saved Edison, also known as Vegapunk.

In the manga, Sanji’s appearance in the panels after saving Vegapunk Edison was quicker compared to the anime. Conversely, in the anime, his movements seemed slower as he was shown jumping from the site where Edison was shot.

Sanji versus S-Shark

When the Egghead arc began, a group of them suited up and proceeded to enter a corridor. It was in this corridor that the Straw Hats came across the S-Shark, a Seraphim model that resembled Jinbe. Because of the Seraphim’s inherent aggression, it targeted the Straw Hats and flung Sanji against the ceiling.

On the contrary, there was no instance in the manga where Sanji was impaled by a Seraphim. Instead, S-Shark swiftly struck the Straw Hats with a powerful blast, causing Usopp to be sent rolling away.

Sanji versus King

During the Onigashima Raid, Mononosuke was taken prisoner by King, one of the commanders of the Beast Pirates, who had defeated Shinobu. However, Sanji arrived and rescued Mononosuke. Despite fighting King in his germa suit, Sanji was unable to do much as the Beast Pirate effortlessly evaded his attacks with just one hand.

Despite the inferiority of Sanji’s germa suit compared to King’s, in the manga he was able to hold his own and put up a good fight against the Beast Pirates, using all of his strength to dodge the attacks of the Straw Hat Pirates.

1) Marco Calls the Straw Hat Pirates’ Stars

Ultimately, during the Raid on Onigashima in the One Piece anime, Marco found himself facing a daunting challenge as he attempted to battle both King and Queen simultaneously. Despite his efforts, he was unable to effectively impede them and eventually conceded defeat. In a moment of desperation, he declared that it was now Zoro’s time to shine, referencing the swordsman who had just been healed and proceeded to effortlessly tear through his bandages.

However, in the manga, Marco later declared that it was time for the stars to shine after he surrendered, alluding to Sanji and Zoro’s joint attack on the Beast Pirates. This same attack also occurred in the anime, but Toei Animation deprived Sanji of his moment in the spotlight.
