It appears that girl groups continue to expand their line-ups! Here are eight girl groups that made their debut with ten or more members in their group.
TripleS
On May 8, the full team of tripleS debuted with their first studio album, “Asssemble24,”and its lead single, “Girls Never Die.”The group consists of 24 members.
TripleS consists of Yoon Seoyeon, Jeong Hyerin, Lee Jiwoo, Kim Chaeyeon, Kim Yooyeon, Kim Soomin, Kim Nakyoung, Gong Yubin, Kaede, Seo Dahyun, Kotone, Kwak Yeonji, Nien, Park Sohyun, Xinyu, Mayu, Lynn, Joobin, Jeong Hayeon, Park Shion, Kim Chaewon, Sullin, Seoah, and Jiyeon.
WJSN
On February 25, 2016, WJSN made their debut as a 12-member group consisting of Exy, Seola, Bona, Soobin, Luda, Dawon, Eunseo, Yeoreum, Dayoung, Xuanyi, Cheng Xiao, and Meiqi.
On July 11, Starship Entertainment announced the addition of Yeonjung from I.O.I to the group, increasing the number of members to 13. On March 3, 2023, it was confirmed that Xuanyi, Cheng Xiao, and Meiqi had departed from the group, leaving a current total of ten members.
3. FROM*ONE
Despite having just debuted on October 29, 2018, with 12 members after their successful run on “Produce 48,”IZ*ONE already had a strong and talented lineup consisting of Kwon Eunbi, Miyawaki Sakura, Kang Hyewon, Choi Yena, Lee Chaeyeon, Kim Chaewon, Kim Minju, Yabuki Nako, Honda Hitomi, Jo Yuri, Ahn Yujin, and Jang Wonyoung.
The disbandment of IZ*ONE took place on April 29, 2021.
4. K-pop girl group LOONA
On August 20, 2018, LOONA officially debuted as a complete group consisting of 12 members: Heejin, Hyunjin, Haseul, Yeojin, Vivi, Kim Lip, JinSoul, Choerry, Yves, Gowon, Chuu, and Olivia Hye.
Despite Chuu’s legal battle with Blockberry Creative, she was officially removed from the group on November 25, 2022. At the time of writing, all members of LOONA have also left the agency, but they continue to remain as a group.
K-pop Girl Group I.O.I
I.O.I, the first group from the “Produce”series, made their debut on May 4, 2016, with 11 members. The group consisted of Lim Nayoung, Kim Chungha, Kim Sejeong, Jung Chaeyeon, Zhoi Jieqiong (Kyulkyung), Kim Sohye, Yoo Yeonjung, Choi Yoojung, Kang Mina, Kim Doyeon, and Jeon Somi.
The disbandment of I.O.I took place on January 29, 2017.
6. K-pop Group PRISTIN
Unfortunately, PRISTIN’s ten-member line-up, consisting of Nayoung, Roa, Yuha, Eunwoo, Rena, Kyulkyung, Yehana, Sungyeon, Xiyeon, and Kyla, only released two mini-albums together after debuting in March 2017.
The disbandment of PRISTIN took place on May 29, 2019.
7. Greetings
The debut of Good Day took place on August 30, 2017, with a lineup of ten members: Heejin, Genie, Cherry, Chaesol, Nayoon, Jiwon, Haeun, Viva, Bomin, and Lucky.
The group quietly disbanded, and most of the members later re-debuted through cignature.
Cherry Bullet – K-pop Girl Group
Initially, when Cherry Bullet debuted in January 2019, they had ten members, including Haeyeon, Yuju, Bora, Jiwon, Remi, Chaerin, Mirae, Kokora, Linlin, and May. This fact may come as a surprise to some fans.
Unfortunately, Mirae, Kokoro, and Linlin departed from the group in December 2019. As a result, Cherry Bullet ultimately disbanded on April 22, 2024.
