Stephanie Matto stated that she was instructed by producers to fabricate a storyline on Season 2 of 90 Day: The Single Life.
Stephanie Matto, who made her first appearance on 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days Season 4 with her then-partner Erika Owens, returned for Season 2 of The Single Life.
On 90 Day: The Single Life, she had an interest in both men and women and was eager to end her celibacy by reentering the dating world.
In a TikTok video posted on June 5, Stephanie revealed that while filming the show, she was not allowed to discuss the celibacy storyline because of the NDA she had signed. She accused the producers of pushing this storyline.
“Among the various spinoffs of the 90 Day Fiancé franchise, Single Life is widely considered to be the most fraudulent. Stephanie, who appeared on the show, admitted to dating two individuals at the time. These individuals had agreed to join her on the show and go on “dates”with her for the purpose of promoting themselves.”
“Throughout the filming process, the show’s producers had a specific storyline in mind for me – breaking my celibacy. At times, they even pressured me to break my three-year-long celibacy, despite my commitment to avoiding any physical contact with others.”

Stephanie revealed that the producer had inquired about her maintaining celibacy while on a date, but she declined. She acknowledged feeling like she was letting them down by rejecting their advances.
Halfway through the season, Stephanie broke her celibacy by meeting someone. However, they both decided not to appear on the show.
Despite her new date not showing up, she was forced to pretend to have a second date and a relationship with her friend, Fred. They expected her to also pretend to lose her virginity to him, but she refused to deceive them in that way.
Ruben ‘The Cuban’ Sanchez is not the first 90 Day Fiancé star to speak out about the show’s authenticity. In fact, he admitted to faking his relationship with Debbie Aguero on Season 4 of 90 Day: The Single Life.
Fans will need to be on the lookout for storylines they perceive as contrived when the next season of the spinoff premieres.
