Update: Avery Mills, one of the stars of 90 Day Fiancé, has shared the exciting news that her husband Omar Albakour has officially gained his US citizenship. This achievement comes after his move from Syria.
Avery Mills and Omar Albakour were featured on season 3 of 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days, and following her conversion to Islam in 2013, she married him in Lebanon.
The 90 Day Fiancé pair has relocated to the United States and established themselves in New Jersey. Avery is employed as a medical assistant, while Omar completed his dental degree in May 2023.
Avery revealed in a June 7 Instagram video that her husband had another significant life change coming.
“Announcing the arrival of a new citizen in town! Congratulations Omar, USA is fortunate to have you,”she wrote in the caption of the post.
The video depicted her administering a pop quiz to Omar prior to his examination, during which she posed questions related to American history.
In the succeeding scene, Omar came back to the car and informed Avery that he had successfully passed the test and was now a US citizen.
There was also a glimpse into Omar’s first oath ceremony after becoming a citizen, where he joked with his wife afterwards about whether he could still be deported.
Fans of 90 Day Fiancé took to the comments to congratulate Omar on his most recent achievement. One fan wrote, “He truly deserves the green card, he’s the only decent guy on the TLC show.”
“Another follower chimed in, expressing congratulations on the news that the US had become a slightly improved place.”
A third person joined in, exclaiming, “We’ve been eagerly anticipating this update for so long!”
The couple is thrilled that Omar has obtained his US citizenship, joining the ranks of many other 90 Day Fiancé stars who have also achieved this significant milestone. In March, Julia Trubkina became a US citizen, and in 2020, Alexei Brovarnik also received his citizenship.
After putting in all of the hard work, Omar can now fully embrace his time in the US with Avery as they continue to progress in their lives.
