Chick-Fil-A’s Waffle Fry Update Causes a Stir on TikTok

Chick-fil-A has recently made a significant change to their well-known waffle fries, and it has left TikTok unsure about their thoughts on the matter.

According to Chick-Fil-A’s official website, the restaurant chain has stated, “The purpose of this recipe change is to conduct a test in order to maintain the beloved taste while also providing crispier waffle fries for our guests.”

The nationwide rollout of these changes has not yet occurred; instead, Chick-fil-A is conducting a test run to gather customer feedback on the new recipe.

The revised recipe includes various starches that were not present in the original version, leading to some discussion among customers who are uncertain about their opinions on the alteration.

Customers feared the beloved Waffle Fries were being taken from menus

In a popular TikTok slideshow, which has amassed over 8 million views, user @kxmilxi responded to the recent change. In the caption, she shared a picture of the original Waffle Fries and wrote, “But baby I don’t wanna say goodbye.”

“After being away from America for 2 weeks, one wrote in all capitals, expressing their shock at what had happened during their absence.”

“What do you mean? I really enjoyed their waffle fries,”one person said, worried that they might no longer be available.

“Don’t worry, they’re just trying out some new fries. Waffle Fries aren’t going anywhere,”another person reassured.

In addition to the confusion, Chick-fil-A is currently conducting a trial of new french fries at a single, highly exclusive location. Following the release of an image showcasing the new fries, customers expressed worry that the beloved Waffle Fries might be discontinued.

Despite the initial concern, Chick-fil-A released a statement to reassure customers: “Our beloved Waffle Fries will continue to be a staple on our menu, so there is no need to worry.”

Both McDonald’s and Wendy’s have also joined Chick-fil-A in causing a stir with their fries, as they recently announced that they will be offering free fries throughout the entire summer.
