Astute followers of Diablo 4 have observed a subtle feature regarding a fresh foe concealed in plain view during the Campfire Chat on August 29, where details of the 2.0 update were revealed.
During the livestream, Blizzard covered a multitude of new features and changes, including the introduction of a new Difficulty system, a raise in the level cap, and the revival of Diablo 2’s Runewords.
As two new Mythic Uniques were displayed, observant fans spotted an intriguing affix on the Heir of Perdition Helm that hinted at the possible introduction of Angels in Diablo 4. The affix, which read “+200.0% Damage to Angels and Demons,”is particularly noteworthy as Demons are already abundant in Sanctuary while Angels have yet to make an appearance.
One post on X highlighted an undisclosed type of enemy by exclaiming, “WHO ARE WE DEALING DAMAGE TO?!?”

Some fans were not as surprised by the discovery, as they had a feeling that this would happen at some point. One comment pointed out that the preorder bonus for the same price included both the wings of faith (presumably Inarius) and now the wings of the damned.
Rhykker, a YouTuber who discussed Diablo 4’s patch 2.0 in a video, was not the only player who noticed this detail about the Angels.
“For a while now, we have speculated about the possibility of Imperius returning and launching an invasion on Heaven. I have even thought about the idea of an expansion in the future, where Imperius opens the gates to Heaven and declares it is time to annihilate humanity,”he explained.
Imperius, who has been featured in games such as Diablo Immortal and Diablo 3, was known as the Archangel of Valor.
Rhykker went on to elaborate that now would be an ideal opportunity to introduce the Paladin class, potentially in the expansion following Vessel of Hatred.
It may take some time for Blizzard to develop a second DLC, but there is a possibility that Angels will be gradually introduced in Season 6 as a lead-up to the next stage of Diablo 4.
Devotees of this franchise will be familiar with Angels as a recurring element in the series. As of now, the only angel featured in Diablo 4 is Inarius, who (spoiler alert) met his demise at the hands of Lilith.
Tyrael, a mortal, has been a prominent Angel character in the franchise. It is possible that these two figures will play a role in the introduction of Angels in the upcoming season.
