Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 269 Confirms Kenjaku’s Fate, Settling Fan Debates

Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 269 spoilers unveil the details surrounding Kenjaku’s demise, effectively settling an ongoing fan debate regarding a popular theory.

In the Jujutsu Kaisen narrative, the sorcerers opted for strategic contingency planning rather than confronting the villains directly. The Shinjuku Showdown Arc took a momentary pause from the Sukuna raid, showcasing an unconventional battle between Takaba and Kenjaku.

Following Takaba’s death, Yuta steps in to eliminate the ancient sorcerer. He and Rika subsequently tackle the multitude of cursed spirits released as a consequence of Kenjaku’s defeat. They rush to join the fight against the strongest threat as quickly as possible.

Chapter 269 of Jujutsu Kaisen highlights Todo’s significant role in the confrontation. Maki expresses that she should have accompanied Yuta in the fight against Kenjaku. Todo clarifies that his technique, Boogie Woogie, wouldn’t have been effective against her, suggesting that Yuta might have faced a tougher challenge without Todo’s support.

This revelation, though, isn’t unexpected for fans, due to a theory circulating in November 2023. As noted by a reader, “Yuta is using Todo’s Technique!! Before Yuta slashed Kenjaku’s neck, it sounded ‘Kaan’. This is the sound of 拍子木 (Wooden Clappers).”

“Consequently, Yuta and Kenjaku’s positions were switched, with Yuta positioned between Takaba and Kenjaku after the exchange. He had indeed copied Todo’s Boogie Woogie!!”

This theory originated from the sound effects featured in the artwork. It was articulated before Todo joined the battle in Chapter 259. Following his arrival, the manga illustrated how he employed his Boogie Woogie with a special tool referred to as “Vibra-slap.”

After Todo’s involvement in May 2024, another popular translator commented, “In fact, Todo actually assisted Yuta twice: 1) swapping Yuta & Kenjaku’s positions 2) bringing Kenjaku’s head closer to Yuta for him to finish off. In both instances, you can hear Todo’s Vibra-slap clanging.”

The conclusion of the Jujutsu Kaisen manga is on the horizon, so keep an eye out for the release date of the final chapter.
