A Baldur’s Gate 3 player discovered a “cool” detail about Karlach

Karlach is one of the most popular characters you can play as in Baldur’s Gate 3. Recently, a player discovered a “really cool” detail on the character’s weapon.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is a large game where it is common to come across secrets quite often. Since the game’s release, players have discovered mysteries and details, some hidden in the darkness while others are in plain sight.

One player spotted such a detail while playing Karlach in the game. This detail ties into the weapon she uses, and the player thinks it’s pretty cool. The player had their theories on why the weapon looks like what was depicted in the game.

The discussion around the subject was initiated by a player who posted a photo of Karlach’s weapon. They also mentioned that the “blue patina is called oxidative bluing and is only achieved by repeated heating and cooling to a very specific temperature.” They also theorized that the reason behind this must be due to “its infernal engine” which operates at 575 degrees Fahrenheit.

Other players joined the conversation as they found this detail interesting, although most of them had different thoughts on why his weapon has this unique design. One such player disputed the theory put forward by the original user by stating, “That’s what she uses this weapon against, which is usually a bunch of demons with hellfire.”

Another user also had similar thoughts as they added, “Probably fight stuff in hell for ten years.” One user expressed that it’s details like these that “make them love this game so much”because people “keep surprising”with new things.

Finally, one of the users said, “You can definitely get the color by heating once, it doesn’t require repeating.”

So it’s safe to say that the detail piqued players’ interest, although not all agreed on why it seemed that way. It seems that most players agree that the design is due to heat, but not from its Infernal Engine, but from other sources.
