A Baldur’s Gate 3 player uses a simple Spell to avoid a hated part of Act 2

A Baldur’s Gate 3 player has explained how to get through one of the most tedious and frustrating sections of Act 2 with a level two Spell.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is a huge game with so much content to explore across its three acts. The amount of freedom, number of character options, and game-impacting decisions encourage multiple playthroughs.

However, there are definitely sections that players dread having to repeat. The Gauntlet of Shar in Act 2, with its three trials, falls into this category. The zone is necessary to advance the plot and contains key moments for Shadowheart. However, the trials themselves can be tedious to complete, especially during repeated playthroughs.

Luckily, a Baldur’s Gate 3 player has explained how to skip this entire section. And for that, all you need is a level two Spell.

A Baldur’s Gate 3 player bypasses the Gauntlet of Shar with the Knock spell

As Reddit user u/Boring_Account_1063 explains, it’s easy to bypass this dreaded section of Act 2 thanks to one of the most deceptively useful spells in the game: Strike.

The game expects players to find the four Sooty Gems needed to power the elevator and the door to the next area. However, you just need to get one, which can be found in the room with Raphael’s old enemy.

From there, all you have to do is use the Gem to power the elevator, then cast Strike on the door which normally requires the other three Gems. This is enough to open the door, bypassing what can be a frustrating and time-consuming part of the game.

Of course, this means missing out on the valuable XP you would often get from completing trials. However, some commenters have shared simple ways to get through them.

You can cheat even more, with some suggesting sending a character to the end of the Light Step test before activating it. Then use navigation or illuminated weapons to see the path to the Leap of Faith trial.

Although some may want to continue the game as planned and experience everything Baldur’s Gate 3 has to offer. However, those playing for the second, third, or tenth time (especially in Honor mode) will probably want to take advantage of every shortcut they can find. /span>
