A Comprehensive Guide to Ascending Your Class in Path of Exile 2 | Ascendancy Tips

One of the standout features of Path of Exile 2 is its intricate and engaging class system. Players can select from a variety of classes, each offering unique subclasses known as Ascendancies. These Ascendancies allow for deeper specialization, enabling players to create builds that leverage distinct nodes to maximize effectiveness. For those eager to unlock their full potential, swiftly ascending their class is crucial. Here’s a comprehensive guide on how to achieve your Ascendancy in Path of Exile 2.

To embark on your ascension journey in Path of Exile 2, you’ll need to complete one of two distinct trials: the Trial of the Sekhemas or the Trial of Chaos. Each trial presents unique mechanics, but successfully conquering either trial allows you to unlock your Ascendancy and grants you two valuable Ascendancy points.

Returning players familiar with the original Path of Exile will recall the Eternal Labyrinth, where players navigated a maze and faced Izaro to achieve ascension. In contrast, the trials in Path of Exile 2 enhance gameplay with varied objectives and even incorporate a roguelike element through Boons. These Boons provide temporary enhancements in exchange for Sacred Water, which can be collected during the Trial of Sekhemas.

The difficulty between the two trials is relatively minor across most builds, allowing players the freedom to choose which path to follow. Each trial consists of multiple chambers with randomized mechanics; understanding these can mitigate unnecessary challenges during your runs. However, keep in mind that failure in these trials means starting over, and entering the Trial of Sekhemas requires a Trial of Sekhemas Coin. Your first opportunity to attempt this trial comes after defeating Balbala in the Prison of the Disgraced, where you’ll obtain Balbala’s Barya, a quest item that’s essential for your journey.

Upon completing your initial ascension, you’ll need to acquire additional Coins for subsequent trial attempts. As you progress, expect an increase in difficulty, necessitating a consistent focus on your character’s power level.
