A Comprehensive Guide to Earning Emeralds in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Emeralds are a precious resource in Disney Dreamlight Valley, but finding them can be quite challenging. Here’s the ultimate guide to farming Emeralds effectively in the game.

Since its release from early access in December 2023, Disney Dreamlight Valley has become a favorite among cozy gaming fans, attracting a large community eager to experience its delightful life-simulation gameplay featuring beloved characters from Disney and Pixar.

In your adventures, you’ll come across various crafting resources such as Clay, Iron Ore, and Softwood, which you can use to create furniture for your home. However, acquiring Gems, especially Emeralds, can be a tricky endeavor.

If you’re eager to collect Emeralds in Disney Dreamlight Valley, here are some of the most effective methods to farm them in the game.

There are two main areas where you can discover Emeralds.

Similar to other gems, Emeralds can be mined from rock spots located in the Forest of Valor and the Glade of Trust. Approach a mining node with your Pickaxe and swing until it breaks.

Look for mining nodes marked with green spots in the Forest and Glade, as they are likely to yield Emeralds. Other rock spots may not guarantee an Emerald drop, so you might have to try multiple locations to secure what you need.

If you haven’t unlocked all biomes yet, the Forest of Valor is the most affordable location to access Emeralds, costing only 3,000 Dreamlight to unlock. Alternatively, you can unlock the Glade of Trust for 5,000 Dreamlight for additional opportunities.

Once you can access either the Forest of Valor or Glade of Trust, focus on smashing the tall black rocks along the walls with your pickaxe for a chance to find Emeralds.

The most effective method to farm Emeralds, or any gems in the Valley, is by spending time with a character who has the mining role. You can assign a Villager a mining role when you reach level 2 friendship, or switch it using a Training Manual once you achieve maximum friendship.

To find out which role each character has, check the Collection tab.

To accompany a character, locate them on the map, initiate a conversation, and choose the ‘hang out’ option. They will follow you and help increase your gem collection while mining!

With your mining companion, head to either the Forest of Valor or Glade of Trust to break rock spots. Remember, spots without visible green gems may not yield Emeralds, but these rocks respawn in approximately five minutes.

Continue bouncing between the Forest and Glade until you have accumulated the Emeralds you desire.
