The second season of “A Couple of Cuckoos”, based on the well-known manga by Miki Yoshikawa, is set to be released in 2025.
The plot centers around Umino Nagi, a teenage boy who was mistakenly switched with another family’s baby. When he finally meets his biological parents, an unexpected encounter results in an arranged engagement with the girl he was switched with.

The Announcement
A tweet from the official Twitter account of manga artist Yoshikawa Miki announced that the anime will be returning for another season.
Translation: TV anime “A Couple of Cuckoo’s” season 2 has been confirmed. Apologies for the wait; however, stay tuned for further updates.
KadokawaAnime announced the release of a new anime by unveiling a PV on July 26th, which included several manga panels.

What Happened in the End of Season 1?
During the previous episode, the group searched for Erika’s father but were unsuccessful. As they prepared to leave and return home, Hiro surprised Erika and Sachi by informing them that he and Nagi would be staying behind for a little longer. After receiving their agreement, the rest of the group left.
Despite being happy to spend time with Hiro, Nagi finds herself unexpectedly stuck in an inn overnight due to a rainstorm. However, their plans are thwarted as Erika and Sachi return to pick them up, preventing anything from happening between Nagi and Hiro.
The last installment centers on Erika as she attends a birthday celebration for Nagi and Sachi’s father. This event allows Erika to finally capture a family photo with them.
Towards the end of the episode, Erika falls ill with a cold and Sachi and Hiro make an effort to assist her. However, it is Nagi’s rice porridge that ultimately provides relief. Surprisingly, this occurrence prompts Hiro and Sachi to realize that they are both vying for Nagi’s affection, with Erika appearing to be in the lead.
Despite the fact that it took the anime an entire season to reach this moment, it is still significant. It may have been delayed, but the anime made up for it with numerous great scenes, which is crucial in any harem anime. Better late than never, right?
