A forgettable Amado scene may have foreshadowed Boruto’s Thorn Soul Bulb long ago

With the debut of Thorn Soul Bulb in chapter 12 of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, fans were introduced to the new entity for the first time in the series. However, as suggested by the manga, its existence may have been planned from the beginning.

The possible foreshadowing of Amado’s involvement in the current scene can be traced back to Boruto: Naruto Next Generations manga. This evidence also supports the theory that Kashin Koji was aware of the Thorn Soul Bulb, eliminating the possibility of any time travel during the timeskip.

Please be aware that this article contains spoilers from the Boruto: Two Blue Vortex manga.

Amado’s Delta drone scene in Boruto may have foreshadowed Thorn Soul Bulb

A Boruto fan, u/Alexander_Timofeev, pointed out on Reddit that Jura retrieving Hidari’s Thorn Soul Bulb had a striking resemblance to the scene in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations chapter 34 where Delta’s drone returned to Amado’s lab. This similarity between the two scenes implies that the manga may have hinted at the existence of the Thorn Soul Bulb years prior to its introduction.

Although the Thorn Soul Bulb and Delta’s drone had some differences, they also shared similarities. Both entities possessed eyes, with the Thorn Soul Bulb possessing a Rinnegan and the drone equipped with an eye for capturing visuals. In addition, both had thorn-like features, with the Thorn Soul Bulb having growths underneath it while the drone had attachments resembling thorns.

These pieces of evidence indicate that Delta’s drone could also have been crafted from a Thorn Soul Bulb. It is likely that the Shibai Otsutsuki Amado had previously encountered could have been his own Thorn Soul Bulb, which he used to extract the Otsutsuki God’s Chakra and develop his cyborgs.

The validity of this theory is further supported by the functioning of Delta’s drone, as depicted in chapter 34 of the manga. Upon her return to Amado’s research lab, the drone landed on a device that appeared to transfer Delta’s consciousness to another one of her clones. This suggests that the drone contained data on Delta’s personality, much like how a Thorn Soul Bulb holds a person’s chakra signature and replicates it in a Claw Grime.

Regarding Kashin Koji, he was among Amado’s first cyborg creations. This could possibly explain why he was the only individual who could validate their appearance, as he may have observed Amado collaborating with Shibai’s Thorn Soul Bulb.

This evidence is further supported by the fact that Code was aware of his ability to create Claw Grimes after his limiter was removed. It is unlikely that the antagonist could have discovered this ability on his own, as it had only been demonstrated by Amado in the past. Therefore, it is possible that Amado had previously experimented with Code and created Claw Grimes, but after witnessing the potential consequences, he implemented a limiter on the cyborg to prevent any further creation of such powerful entities.

This theory also explains why Eida was suspicious of Amado’s past. After investigating further, the cyborg may have discovered the extent of Amado’s research in reviving his daughter Akebi Sanzu.
