Maintaining your equipment is essential for survival in Stalker 2. As players navigate the unforgiving landscapes of the game, ensuring that their gear is in prime condition is crucial; malfunctions can occur at the most inconvenient times. Below are effective methods to keep your equipment functioning optimally.
Have you experienced the disappointment of looting an enemy only to find their gear is in disarray? Or perhaps you’ve faced the frustration of your weapon signaling a warning due to overuse. If so, it’s time to dedicate some attention to your arsenal. Let’s delve into how to repair gear in Stalker 2.
Repairing Your Gear
To initiate repairs on your weapons or gear, you’ll need to visit a Technician. The first available Technician, named Lens, can be accessed by completing the side quest titled Stalker Wisdom, which is given by Kolya Plaster in Zalissya. This NPC will guide you to Lens’s location.
Zalissya serves as the primary settlement in the Lesser Zone, where players engage with quests like A Needle in a Haystack and Poppy Field. As you progress, you’ll discover additional Technicians, identifiable by a wrench icon on your map. Here’s how to repair your gear once you locate a Technician:
- Press Q (or Y on a controller) to open the Upgrade menu.
- Select the item you wish to repair from the left-hand list.
- Locate the Repair option at the bottom right, which indicates the coupon cost.
- If you possess enough coupons, press R (or X on a controller) to execute the repair.
Identifying Repair Needs
Only weapons and armor exhibit durability, indicated by a shield icon; yellow signifies minor wear, while red indicates severe damage. Notably, most traders in the game will not accept items with durability below 40%, with the exception of Ragman in Rostok, who caters to more damaged gear. Remember, lower durability results in higher repair costs, so aim to maintain your equipment above 50% durability for cost-effective repairs.
Consistent maintenance of your gear can prevent weapon jams and armor failures, enhancing your preparedness for the myriad challenges lurking within the Zone.
Technician Locations
Below is a compiled list of all Technicians located within various zones:
- Lens: The Lesser Zone
- Sgt. Ivaylov : Chemical Plant
- Multitool : Cordon
- Screw : Threads
- Diode: Garbage
- Sgt Khamaruk: Cement Factory
As you explore the Zone and progress through the narrative, additional Technicians will appear in new settlements. Generally, each significant region hosts at least one Technician, easily identifiable on your map by a wrench icon.
By staying proactive in equipment management, you can ensure your survival and increase your success in the perilous world of Stalker 2.
