As any good RPG adventurer knows, having the best gear and weapons in your arsenal is fundamental, and the same can be said for Towerborne. The Belfry thankfully has everything you need to achieve that, and if you’re wondering how it works, here’s our handy guide on how to upgrade weapons and gear in Towerborne.

To upgrade any of your weapons or gear in Towerborne, you first need to unlock the Forge, conveniently located at the Belfry. The Forge is run by a character named Bumble, who can be found to the right of Blaise and the Job Board, in the center of town.

For the Forge to become accessible, you must complete the first Primary Quest of Towerborne’s story, which is given at the start of the game. Once completed, many of the Belfry’s resources will be available, including the Forge after speaking to Bumble.

To use the Forge, interact with the Anvil nearby, indicated by a floating blue icon. This will bring up the Upgrade and Dismantle menus for you.

All weapons and gear obtained during your adventures in Towerborne can be upgraded at the Forge. In the Upgrade menu, you will find separate tabs for Weapons and Gear, depending on what you wish to upgrade.

Be aware that upgrading items requires a substantial amount of Spirit Dust. This resource can be acquired by completing missions across the World Map, or by dismantling unnecessary weapons and gear. The latter is the most efficient method for quickly gathering Spirit Dust.

After choosing the item you want to upgrade, select it using the ‘Upgrade’ button located at the bottom of the screen. Upgraded weapons will see boosts to their item level and attack power, while upgraded gear will receive enhancements to their item level and defense stat.

Lower-level gear and weapons can undergo one or two upgrades, whereas higher-level items can be upgraded further. Once you see the “Max Level Reached” indicator, that item cannot be upgraded any longer. Remember, you can also attach Aspects for additional buffs and benefits.
