If you thought riot shields were frustrating, wait until you experience the new Body Shield feature in Black Ops 6, where your adversaries can literally serve as your protection.
This latest installment revolutionizes gameplay across Campaign, Multiplayer, and Warzone by introducing a system known as omnimovement. For the first time in the history of Call of Duty, players can sprint, slide, or dive in any direction while maintaining the same speed. Furthermore, the ability to dive and fire simultaneously significantly expands the potential for dynamic movement.
Additionally, enhanced movement mechanics allow players to sprint, mantle, crouch, and strafe around corners with fewer button clicks. Treyarch has prioritized fluidity in movement, a principle that is evident with the Body Shield feature as well.
To utilize this new defensive strategy, players simply need to follow one straightforward step.
Understanding the Body Shield Feature
The Body Shield mechanic in Black Ops 6 allows you to grab an enemy and position them in front of you, effectively converting them into a human shield. You can move around while using their body as a barrier and continue firing your primary weapon as they absorb incoming fire.
How to Utilize an Enemy as a Body Shield
When you find yourself close behind an opponent, you can employ them as a Body Shield by double-tapping the Melee button. After they’ve taken some hits for you, you can eliminate them with a swift dispatch or finishing maneuver before they go down.
For those using a PlayStation controller, press O (Circle) to melee. If you’re on an Xbox controller, double-tap B. Note that these instructions refer to default controller settings, so if you have altered your controls, be sure to check your melee button configuration.
Is Voice Chat Available with Enemies Used as a Body Shield?
We heard your requests and can confirm that the Body Shield feature in Multiplayer allows for voice chat between the attacker and their victim. Be nice… pic.twitter.com/KxyaDo7bAc

Treyarch has confirmed that players can engage in voice chat while using the Body Shield feature, which is likely to lead to amusing interactions as players engage in banter or plead for mercy.
The Advantages of the Body Shield Feature
By deploying the Body Shield in Black Ops 6, players can use enemies for cover, providing a layer of protection against enemy fire. This is particularly useful for advancing into Hardpoint locations or breaching doors while safeguarded.
However, keep in mind that your enemy can only absorb so much damage, so don’t expect the Body Shield to endure indefinitely.
This feature is available in both Campaign and Multiplayer modes, but it will not be accessible in Warzone upon launch. It will be intriguing to observe whether this mechanic will be incorporated into the Call of Duty League or if professional players will opt to prohibit its use.
