A Look Back at BTS Jungkook’s Performance at the Qatar World Cup: Rehearsing with Goggles On + Endless Charm

In honor of the anniversary of their official fan club “ARMY”on July 9th, BTS released individual videos for each member on their official YouTube channel “BANGTANTV”.

Titled “Jung Kook’s Qatar Adventure”, the video highlights Jungkook’s trip to Qatar to perform at the opening ceremony of the “2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar”. It captures Jungkook’s relaxed moments in between his busy schedule, revealing his genuine and friendly nature through his carefree and adorable demeanor.

Upon his arrival in Qatar, Jungkook was greeted with a bouquet at the airport after departing on a chartered flight and receiving VIP treatment.

During his initial day at the hotel, he took a dip in the pool and demonstrated his breaststroke, underwater swimming, and freestyle abilities.

Despite expressing his boredom with being alone, Jungkook managed to keep himself entertained on the second day through various activities such as “stretching in the water,””taking commemorative diving photos,””doing push-ups underwater,”and “splashing water at the filming staff.”This displayed his playful and endearing nature even when he was alone.

Following the rehearsal for the opening ceremony, Jungkook admitted, “I’m not really nervous, but I do have some concerns. However, after going through the rehearsal, I feel more at ease. There are a few parts towards the end that I’m not completely satisfied with. Although time is limited, I believe we should make some changes to the choreography for the ending. The dance team will be joining us tomorrow and we will work on learning the new choreography together. We have only one day to memorize it all, but I believe we can handle it.”

Despite the impending opening ceremony, Jungkook remained dedicated to rehearsing and showcasing his professionalism and passion. In a video, he can be seen wearing a swimsuit and goggles, impressing fans with his precise and rhythmic dance routine.

While collaborating with the dancers, Jungkook dedicated himself to perfecting his choreography. During a visit to an amusement park, he noticed the Korean flag and instinctively placed his hand on his heart. In a solemn tone, he expressed, “To our national team! You have our full support! You can do it!”His heartfelt words conveyed a strong message of encouragement.

Within 9 hours since its release, Jungkook’s video has reached 1 million views and within 2 days, it has surpassed 2 million views, making it the fastest among all of BTS members’ videos released on the same day. As of the morning of July 12th, it has also become the first among the members to surpass 2 million views.

In addition, it was the only member video to reach the Korea Daily Top Music Videos chart, ranking 86th on YouTube’s trending videos and reaching 10th place.

The performance video of Jungkook’s “Dreamers”at the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Opening Ceremony, which was posted on BTS’s official YouTube channel “BANGTANTV”, has now reached over 170 million views and is currently ranked as the 5th most-viewed video on the channel.
