A new Mythic should debut in Pokémon Go

A new trailer for Pokémon Go Fest 2024 suggests that a new Mythical Pokémon from the main games will finally make its way to mobile gaming.

Pokémon Go has gradually introduced new Pokémon into the game since its launch. This makes for a great excuse for events, as it means there’s always something new that players will want to capture, giving them an incentive to engage with what’s happening at that moment.

One place where Legendary and Mythical Pokémon are often added to Pokémon Go is during Pokémon Go Fests, which take place in different cities around the world. One example is Pokémon Go Fest 2023, which introduced Diancie to Pokémon Go.

Niantic has confirmed that Pokémon Go Fest 2024 will take place and will feature the debut of a Mythical Pokémon that first appeared in Pokémon Sun & Moon.

Pokémon Go Fest 2024 trailer hints at the start of Marshadow

A new trailer for Pokémon Go Fest 2024 has been added to the official Pokémon Go YouTube channel. The trailer shows Pikachu and Eevee running towards a tree with a shadow behind.

Fans quickly identified this as Marshadow, a Pokémon whose data is already in Pokémon Go but cannot be caught in the game.

Marshadow is a Fighting/Ghost-type Pokémon that was introduced in Generation 7. As a Mythical Pokémon, Marshadow can only be acquired through external events and cannot be captured in-game. The other way to acquire it is through trading.

Marshadow also played a significant role in the film I Choose You!, which featured a version of Ash from a different reality from the Pokémon anime. In this film, Marshadow has a strange connection to Ho-Oh, acting as a guide to those chosen by the great Phoenix of Johto.

Thanks to its impressive stats, type, and attacks, Marshadow was incredibly powerful in battles in the mainline Pokémon video games. Pokémon Go fans are eager to see if the mobile version of the Mythical Pokémon can match the main Pokémon.

Niantic has said that it will reveal more details about Pokémon Go Fest 2024 soon, so it shouldn’t be long before the Shadow Warrior Pokémon becomes available for players to capture around the world.
