This week has proven to be quite exciting for fans of Sims! Not only have we received a sneak peek at the upcoming Life and Death expansion pack, but a brand-new mobile game titled The Sims Labs: Town Stories has surfaced. Currently, it is already available on the Play Store.
It’s important to note that this title is distinct from The Sims Freeplay or the anticipated Project Rene. Instead, it promises an entirely unique and “exciting building simulation” experience. At present, it may not be accessible in all regions, but there’s already some revealing information and footage available regarding its features.
According to the app’s description, players will embark on an “exciting adventure” as a newcomer in the town of Plumbrook. You will be tasked to “craft the perfect town,” bringing a vibrant community to life through your vision.
In terms of gameplay, expect to find green spaces, public gardens, and eclectic neighbors surrounding your new abode. Along your journey, you will need to earn the trust of the townspeople, which is hinted to be “no easy feat.”

Although the game has just been listed, initial gameplay footage showcasing the beginning moments is already available. Players can choose which Sims to play as at the start, which deviates from the typical Create-A-Sim (CAS) experience seen in the franchise. These Sims appear to come with pre-defined presets, but since full customization options are noted as “coming soon,” it’s feasible that this is an early access version allowing for future adjustments based on player preferences.
In the footage, beloved NPC Bella Goth is spotted returning, assisting you through the initial phases of establishing your new home and navigating game mechanics.
So far, the game seems to blend building management with social elements, as suggested by official images and descriptions. Given this is a mobile title, we can anticipate some potential microtransactions may be introduced in the future.
