A photo in Pokémon Go turns into an accidental fight

The Snapshot feature in Pokémon Go can be a great way to get cute photos of your Pokémon and find rare encounters – or to punch some Ultra Chimeras, as one player recently discovered.

The Snapshot mechanic in Pokémon Go is a great way to take cute photos of your Pokémon on the go. This can also be a good way to find rare encounters, especially if there is an event going on like the current Horizons event.

This can lead to some unfortunate visuals, however, as one Pokémon Go player demonstrated with his Ultra Chimera photobomb on r/pokemongo recently.

A Pokémon Go player accidentally hits an Ultra Chimera

Originally appearing in this post on Reddit, a Pokémon Go player shared a photo featuring characters from the Horizons event. In it, Roy jumps forward with his arm outstretched – and appears to hit a nearby Vemini in the process.

Other Pokémon Go players on the Subreddit found this hilarious, with one person commenting that you have to “fight Pokémon with your bare hands to be a real protagonist in the Pokémon anime”and another joking that, “The p tit brother had a fist sandwich for lunch.”

Some of the responses focused on the Snapshot feature itself instead of the jab at Vemini, with one person angrily remarking, “Ah yes another feature that no one needs, wants, or asked for. Great job listening to Niantic players. [Sarcastic applause here].”

One Pokémon player in the responses was curious about the Snapshot mechanic, asking why he hadn’t experienced a Photobomb encounter yet. The original poster responded, that it might have to do with the Pokémon they take photos of and suggesting to turn off augmented reality (AR).

If you haven’t played around with the Snapshot feature yet, it’s absolutely worth doing so. The Horizons event is ending very soon, but it’s still worth taking a look for a chance to encounter a random Pokémon or get a cute photo with your Buddy Pokémon.
