A Pokémon Go event under fire for its “execrable” quality

Events in Pokémon Go can be a great way to find rare Pokémon and stock up on resources – but they can also be a nightmare, according to some players.

Participating in a Pokémon Go event should, in theory, be a lot of fun. They are usually centered around a main Pokémon or character and tend to offer power-ups, resources, and rare Pokémon that can be difficult to find on a normal day.

However, that’s not always the case – and fans aren’t afraid to make their voices heard when it comes to disappointing events. A Pokémon Go player recently took to r/pokemongo to trash the Primal Kyogre Raid Day event.

If you missed it, Primo-Kyogre Raid Day took place on March 17 and the ticket for the event cost €5, including bonus Raid Passes and more rewards from Raids in addition to encounters with Primo -Kyogre and Kyogre Shiny. On paper, this should have been a cool event.

A Pokémon Go player recently took to Reddit to criticize the event, calling it a “complete mess.” In their post on Reddit, they mentioned the significant connectivity issues reported and expressed their hope that affected players can get their money back or be compensated in some way.

The author of the post continued to vent, saying: “They’ve done so many events now that it amazes me that they still have problems like this. Heck, they had the Sinnoh World Tour just a few weeks ago and it didn’t have as many problems.”

Other Pokémon Go players in the Subreddit shared the OP’s frustration, with one person jokingly responding, “so… a standard Niantic event then?”

Some shared their own irritating experiences with the event, with one player detailing, “Same here, and I ended up losing a few because after trying to join with new Pokémon, the raid kicked my party out, and then a new Kyogre appeared” . They noted that they gave up after that.

It wasn’t all negative, though – some players seemed to have a great time with this event. One commented, “No problems, I got a Kyogre Shiny,” and another agreed, saying “It went well for me. A little lag. No Shiny but it’s ok” .

While it’s hard to say for sure, it’s possible that the issues were location-based. There are still plenty of Pokémon Go events coming, so hopefully more players will have a positive experience with the next one.
