The author proceeded to explain that many of the rarer Dragon-type species will be coming to Pokémon Go during the Dragons Unleashed Lunar New Year event, and that means trainers looking to maximize their XL Candy gains when the Dragons Unleashed Carnival Love will begin should follow this procedure:
- Capture all Dragon-type Pokémon that require 25 candies to evolve.
- Prioritize which ones you want to get XL Candies from and keep them in your Storage.
- Farm regular candy and unevolved Pokémon from February 5 to February 11. Use Nanana Berries to speed up the process.
- During the Carnival of Love (February 13 to February 15), evolve saved dragon Pokémon, and you will get 2 XL Candies for every 25 candies spent.
