A common joke in the Pokémon Go community is to nickname Keunotor “god” , thanks to the memetic potential of this Normal-type Pokémon.
As a result, many trainers share their memorable Keunotor captures on social media, as was the case for a trainer on the Pokémon Go subreddit who said: “I tried to capture a Keunotor, but all that I got it, it’s this thing.”

Players in the comments shared the original poster’s pain at this missed opportunity. “He tried to be a god but failed,” one trainer said. Another asked, “If Keunotor shiny = god. Does shiny Ditto pretending to be a god = Beelzebub?”
Others played the meme game and created their own canon for this spectacular failure. “Lord Keunotor refused his presence, but left you a gift anyway. You have earned the favor of the most powerful being in existence,” said one fan.
All memes aside, capturing a shiny Shifter is nothing to sneeze at, considering how difficult this shapeshifter can be to find in the wild.
Although this trainer didn’t capture the god Pokémon he wanted, the prize he finally got isn’t so bad after all.
