One particularly lucky Pokémon Go player thanks Arceus, after finally completing a Field Research mission that had been years in the making, and the reward was even better than he imagined.
In Pokémon, embarking on the endless quest known as “Catch Them All” is one thing. But, if you’re even remotely interested in competitive battles, then finding rare Pokémon with good stats is a whole other challenge.
Pokémon Go has a dedicated battle scene, but with limitations on catching and trading that don’t exist in the main games, finding a Pokémon with good stats is even more important. No mints or capsules here.
So a Pokémon Go player considers himself lucky after finally completing a Field Research mission that’s been in the works for years, because his reward was about as good as it gets.
Lucky Pokémon Go Player Gets a Perfect Mew from a Field Research Mission
A Pokémon Go player named u/jasdanu_36 shared a post on Reddit, proudly displaying a very lucky catch, as he managed to obtain a Mew with perfect stats from a Field Research mission after years of effort.
They share comments alongside the post saying: “THE GODS OF RANDOM HAVE BLESSED ME!”
Then, they explain in more detail, adding: “Posted last night about finally being able to evolve Magikarp to complete the ‘Special Study A Mythical Discovery’. Well, I just finished it and was rewarded with a perfect Mew. I do not believe it. All these years with the Study pending and it ends with a 4*” .
Other players share their astonishment, and jealousy, in the comments, with one person saying: “RNGesus, I see what you’ve done for other people and I want that for myself.”
Another player took the opportunity to show off their own capture, responding by saying: “Not to brag but I have a lucky shundo, a purified mewtwo.”
Meanwhile, one player shared achieving the same feat, saying: “I also got a 100% Mew, I use it in my Grand League team to cover my weak spots lol.”
The person behind the original post responds, saying: “I didn’t expect to get a good one. With the Dragon event going on, I’ve only been getting crappy IVs across the board. So seeing the 4* was a pleasant surprise.”
Eventually, another player encourages them to take it to the next level, adding: “Man, this is one you need to max out and use in the master league.”
Whether that player decides to keep this perfect Mew below 1500 CP for the Grand League or train it to battle the very best in the Ultra League, this little Mew is shaping up to be a star for Pokémon Go Battle Day 2024.
