A Pokémon Go player shared his surprise when he found himself surrounded by a group of Trompignons.
Trompignon is a plant/poison type creature that has recently taken center stage in Pokémon Go. On January 30, developer Niantic hosted a Trompignon Featured Hour in the game, which saw this pocket monster appear in a big way number for a limited time.
Trainers who played during this time were rewarded with 2x Stardust when capturing Pokémon, a benefit few wanted to miss out on.
However, one player was shocked when a group of Trompignons (Trompignons?) suddenly surrounded him in the mobile adventure.
Trompignon in Pokémon Go surrounds a surprised Trainer
Reddit user -LORD-EGG- uploaded a screenshot of their trainer being surrounded by a small group of pocket monsters in Pokémon Go.
Fortunately, the creatures – three Trompignons – didn’t pose too much of a threat. But the Redditor couldn’t help but wonder if this represented some sort of “ritual.”
Replies in the thread were quickly filled with mushroom-related jokes. One of the well-liked responses says: “You should be fine. They seem like funny guys.”
Another popular comment says: “Not much mushroom there for anything else!”
Jokes aside, several Pokémon Go players have explained why Trumpkins are suddenly roaming the country in abundance. The blame lies with the previously mentioned Star Hour, which takes place every Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. local time.
Later responses from the original author show that he was unaware that Bugle counted as this week’s featured Pokémon. “Is there an event? I thought I was going crazy,” the user wrote in response to an explanation.
Hopefully everyone wasn’t shaken when little mushrooms started suddenly appearing in the game.
