A Pokémon Scarlet & Purple player gets put in his place by Lucario

Have you ever heard of a Pokémon that doesn’t like cameras? A Pokémon Purple player recently shared a clip of their Lucario who appears to be strongly against the idea of taking a selfie.

The camera function in Pokémon Scarlet and Purple is a lot of fun. It lets you take photos of the sky, your character, and your team of Pokémon, making it a perfect way to record your adventures so you can relive them later.

It’s a pretty standard feature, but Pokémon Violet player dimsumlasagna recently posted a fun clip of their camera mishap on r/PokemonScarletViolet that shows what can happen when the camera function decides to act up, or when a Pokémon really doesn’t want to be photographed.

A Pokémon Violet player gets the camera punched out of his hands

Posting on Reddit with the caption “did you know your Pokémon could knock you out of camera mode with a punch? Because I didn’t know,” is a hilarious example of a small bug disrupting someone’s game.

did you know that your Pokémon could punch you out of camera mode? Bc I did not byu/dimsumlasagna inPokemonScarletViolet

In the clip, dimsumlasagna can be seen spending time with his Pokémon at a beachside picnic before trying to take a selfie with the camera.

The Lucario spots the camera, rushes towards it, and then hits it, causing the camera menu to close.

Pokémon fans in the thread agreed “he DID NOT want his photo taken” and suggested Lucario was simply “fed up with the paparazzi.”

“Is your Lucario also a problem child? Mine loves to throw balls super far, especially when we’re near water,” another player joked, proving that this Pokémon seems to be causing problems for many fans.

As some insightful readers have pointed out, what appears to have actually happened is that Lucario threw the ball at the user, causing it to move. If you move in Pokémon Scarlet or Purple, you cannot keep the camera open. It’s a lot funnier to assume that Lucario was protesting being included in a series of photos on Instagram, though.
