One of Pokémon Scarlet and Purple ‘s most controversial features remains a source of comedy for many players, and a new “glizzy”sandwich highlights the perils of sandwich making while making fans laugh.
There are a lot of problems with Pokémon Scarlet and Purple. The games are still a great source of entertainment, and we’re not ready to give up on them, but there are still quite a few issues to resolve if Pokémon wants to patch the games in the future.
Unfortunately, for those looking to catch shiny Pokémon, one of the most annoying features is sandwich making. What should surely be a simple task is instead a moment of chaos, with players having to frantically hope to place the ingredients on the bread, without the table or mini-game glitching.
With so many ingredients and so many possible bonuses from sandwiches, Pokémon Scarlet & Purple players are always discovering new sandwiches to make. Now, a particularly grotesque sandwich reminds players of the feature, and how funny it can be.

Pokémon Scarlet & Purple player u/Runnernerd2020 recently shared this Reddit post, alongside an image of a… sad, overloaded hot dog sandwich, along with the comment, “I’m so sorry…”
Naturally, Pokémon fans are having a lot of fun in the comments, with many sharing a joke at the sandwich’s expense while also poking fun at Pokémon Scarlet and Purple’s ridiculous mechanic.
Commenting on the interesting hot dog sandwich, one person adds, “Your sandwiches are the worst”before another comment says, “Is that a herbed sausage in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?”
A lot of discussion is about how difficult it is to make sandwiches. One of the top comments below the post says, “These recipes really ask for the most absurd things like MADAME how am I supposed to stack 3 potato salads on top of 4 smoked filets??”
Another person adds their thoughts, adding, “Dude, some of the sandwiches for the shiny ones. They always ask for a hamburger, a green pepper, an onion, tomatoes, and then 2 of an ingredient. Have fun adding two servings of tofu too.”
It’s not just the ingredients that are the problem, though, as one person says, “For me, it must be the fall from the top of the bread that looks like it came from the Empire State Building. Let me just put it down gently. There is absolutely no need to try to create an impact crater in my sandwich.”
Luckily for those just hoping to get the bonuses from the sandwiches, it seems that looks aren’t important, as one commenter says, “Pro tip, the top of the bun doesn’t count for anything; drop it way down and have an open-faced monstrosity instead.”
