A unique Harry Potter inspiration could make the Gorosei One Piece’s toughest enemies to kill

The Five Elders in One Piece are widely considered to be some of the most powerful and malevolent individuals. Not only do they possess incredible devil powers, but there is speculation among fans that these five leaders of the World Government may also be immortal thanks to the Op-Op fruit’s ability to grant eternal life through surgery.

However, this statement raises speculation about the nature of Law’s immortality surgery. Is it possible that it functions similarly to his ‘Room’ ability, in which he can control the bodies of those within a designated space?

There is speculation that he possessed the ability to extract portions of individuals’ souls through the use of the Immortality surgery, comparable to the renowned Horcrux concept from the widely popular supernatural novel adaptation, Harry Potter.

Exploring the Relationship Between Gorosei’s Immortality and the Horcrux from the Harry Potter Series in One Piece

The Five Elders, also known as the Gorosei, hold the highest authority in the World Government and are its leaders. Although they first appeared in chapter 233/episode 151 of One Piece, it wasn’t until the final saga that they made an official appearance in the story.

The initial Gorosei to emerge was Saint Saturn, who came to the Holy Land of Mariejois with Kizaru and several Marine Officers after the CP0 failed to eliminate Dr. Vegapunk. He arrived on the battlefield in a dramatic fashion, taking on a hybrid form that resembled both a human and a devil.

After the demise of Vegapunk, a global phenomenon was triggered and in order to prevent further chaos, Saint Saturn called upon the other four elders to gather at Egghead Island. Upon their arrival, these five powerful beings caused destruction in an attempt to put an end to Vegapunk’s phenomenon. As of the latest chapter, 1121, Vegapunk’s phenomenon is still ongoing.

Despite the overwhelming strength of their devil powers, there is another peculiar aspect to these creatures. No matter how many times they were injured, they always managed to fully recover, as if they possessed immortality.

Despite Kuma breaking Saint Saturn’s leg and the Iron Giant breaking Saint Warcury’s tooth, there have been numerous instances where the Gorosei have been shown to recover from their injuries. This hints at the possibility of them being immortal, but the idea of such beasts possessing immortality raises the question of its plausibility.

Trafalgar D Water Law possesses the devil fruit known as the Op-Op fruit, which is said to grant immortality. This fruit allows the pirate to create a room, similar to an operation theater, where he can manipulate the bodies of those within its boundaries. While this power is impressive, there is one ability of the Op-Op fruit that remains unexplored and may be one of the most formidable abilities in the entire series – the Immortality surgery.

Donquixote Doflamingo desired Law’s fruit in order to obtain immortality. However, Donquixote Rosinante foiled his plan by giving the fruit to Law. The Immortality Surgery is known to grant immortality, but how exactly does it function and which part of the body does it alter?

The procedure may involve manipulating an individual’s soul and splitting it into multiple fragments, each of which would be carefully concealed in various locations to prevent the person from being easily killed after the surgery.

Therefore, it is possible that the Gorosei obtained their immortality through this procedure. To provide a clearer understanding of this surgery, let us consider a similar concept from a different medium.

The Horcrux is a prominent element in the highly successful Harry Potter franchise. It refers to any living or non-living entity that contains a fragment of another individual’s soul. By dividing their soul into multiple Horcruxes, a person can attain immortality.

Voldemort, the main antagonist of the series, had split his soul into seven Horcruxes in order to attain immortality. The creation of a Horcrux requires the user to commit a heinous act, typically murder, followed by a specific spell.

Among his Horcruxes were various objects such as a locket, the snake Nagini, and a diary. One of his unintentional Horcruxes was the body of the protagonist, Harry Potter.

Just like Voldemort’s Horcruxes, the Gorosei’s souls may have been divided through the immortality surgery, leaving Law as a potential victim of murder.

In addition, their soul fragments could be concealed in various locations. These could include Zunesha, which may also be linked to their wrongdoing, as well as the inanimate Giant Straw Hat situated in Mariejois.
