The Pit of the Artificers is a time-trial dungeon similar to Diablo 3’s Rifts, and is one of the new endgame systems introduced in Season 4 of Diablo 4. To access it, follow these steps in Diablo 4.
The Pit of the Artificers Location in Diablo 4 Season 4
During Season 4 in Diablo 4, the Pit of the Artificers can be found in the Scosglen region, specifically in the town of Cerrigar. It is situated near the waypoint in the center of the town, resembling an obelisk structure.
The pillar will not be accessible to players until they have reached World Tier 4: Torment. Once this tier becomes available, players will immediately receive a quest to unlock it.
In order to gain access to The Pit of the Artificers, players must first finish a Tier 46 Nightmare Dungeon. The specific dungeon does not matter, as long as it is at least Tier 46.
How to Enter The Pit of the Artificers in Diablo 4
To enter The Pit of the Artificers, Diablo 4 players must use one Runeshard to open the portal located in Cerrigar. While only one member of the party needs to spend the Runeshard, that player will receive a greater amount of Masterworking materials and Stygian Stones upon finishing the challenge.
The remaining members of the party will now receive reduced amounts of Masterworking materials and will not receive any Stygian Stones. Masterworking materials may consist of Ingolith, Neathiron, and Obducite. These Stygian Stones are essential for summoning Torment versions of bosses, including the recently added endgame boss Andariel.
Players can acquire Runeshards by participating in a range of activities such as Nightmare Dungeons, Helltides, public events, and World Bosses. However, the resource will only become accessible once The Pit has been fully unlocked through the completion of the quest.
Upon entering, players must defeat a sufficient number of monsters within 10 minutes to summon and defeat a boss enemy. The Pit of the Artificers consists of 200 tiers, with the first tier featuring level 100 enemies. This continues until all 200 tiers have been completed.
To unlock the next tier, players must complete it with four to six minutes remaining. If they have more than six minutes left, they will unlock the next two tiers. Each death in The Pit will result in a deduction of 30 seconds, 60 seconds, and then 90 seconds.
