After creating your player and perfecting your build, you will begin your NBA career with the team of your choosing. You may also opt to participate in the Heart of the Dynasty mode, which allows you to experience the journey leading up to the NBA. However, if you prefer, your main objective is to establish yourself as a prominent figure in the NBA.

As a high-potential rookie, you will begin your journey and must prove your worth. Your starting position on your chosen team will depend on your ability to outperform the current starter, regardless of your role.

If you created a point guard character and selected the Dallas Mavericks, you will need to compete against Luka Doncic or Kyrie Irving for your position. Your main task in the quests tab will be titled “Franchise Player: Earn a Starting Spot.”

You simply need to achieve a teammate grade higher than your opponent in four separate games.

Despite receiving a below average grade or a B- or B teammate grade at the end of the game, it doesn’t make a difference. Based on my previous experience, even when I finished with a B- on Allstar difficulty with 5-minute quarters, I still outperformed Mike Conley, which helped me achieve my goal.

The more competitive the pool of applicants for the position, the more challenging it becomes to secure the starter spot.

In MyCareer, it is better to select a team that is the most suitable for your player instead of joining a strong team at random.

Getting the starting position does not guarantee permanence. To earn a promotion, two of the following objectives must still be completed:

  • 3x Teammate Grade B or Higher
  • 3x 20-PT Games
  • 3x 10-AST Games
  • 3x 10-REB Games
  • 3x Stocks (Blocks and Steals) Games

As long as you concentrate on two of the objectives, you will be able to continue as the starter and receive the next Franchise Player quest. The quest page does not specify a deadline for these objectives.
