On Friday, August 30, 2024, Happinet confirmed that the release date for the Acro Trip anime series will be on Wednesday, October 2, 2024. The show will initially air in Japan on the Tokyo MX channel at 10PM JST, followed by premieres on BS Nippon Television on Thursday, October 3 at 12:30AM JST and AT-X at 11PM JST on October 3.
Furthermore, the Acro Trip anime unveiled a fresh key visual and introduced three more cast members for the show. The updated key visual showcases the recently revealed characters. However, this latest round of news did not include any details about the availability of the series for streaming domestically or internationally.
Acro Trip anime casts Takehito Koyasu, Koichi Soma, and Yuji Kameyama in latest announcement
The Acrop Trip anime will be welcoming three new cast members: Takehito Koyasu, Koichi Soma, and Yuji Kameyama. Koyasu will take on the role of Hugh, a member of the nefarious organization Fossa Magna. Soma will portray Ojii-chan/Sukyo Date, the grandfather of Chizuko. Lastly, Kameyama will play Kuma Kaiji, a enigmatic being created by Chroma. These talented actors will join the already announced lead cast members:

The opening theme song for the anime, titled “Fragum,”is being performed by Inori Minase, which is derived from the Latin word for strawberry. The ending theme song, “Reversible Baby,”is being performed by KanoeRana. The anime is directed by Ayumu Kotake at Voil studios, with series composition by Shinichi Inotsume. Toshie Kawamura is responsible for designing the characters for the series, and there are also additional staff members involved in its production.

The Acro Trip anime is the authorized television adaptation of Yone Sawata’s manga series, also titled “Acro Trip”. The manga was originally serialized in Shuiesha’s Ribbon shojo manga magazine from February 2017 until its conclusion in December 2022. The series was later compiled into five volumes, which have not yet been released in English at the time of writing this article.
The plot centers around Chizuko Date, a young girl living in Niigata Prefecture who is an otaku. She is deeply invested in the character of Berry Blossom, a magical girl who defends the city, but is dismayed by the lack of interest in Blossom’s rival, Chroma. Determined to bring attention to Blossom’s battles and adventures, Chizuko embarks on a journey filled with unconventional characters and hidden challenges.
