Giancarlo Esposito, known for his roles in Breaking Bad and The Boys, has once again confirmed rumors that he will be joining the MCU. Fans have speculated about his potential character and have come up with an intriguing idea.
At Phoenix Fan Fusion, Esposito revealed in a panel discussion that he will soon be making an appearance in the MCU. He also hinted that his role will be unexpected and will be teased before a new series is released.
He has previously expressed interest in being a part of the Marvel Universe and even shared with the audience at CCXP earlier this year: “I believe there is value in being original… wouldn’t it be exciting to see me portray a completely new and fresh character in a Marvel film?”
Despite not disclosing details on which upcoming Marvel project he will be featured in, fans have formulated a few theories. One popular hypothesis is that he will take on the iconic role of Norman Osborn, also known as The Green Goblin, considered to be one of the greatest supervillains in the franchise.
When a fan on Reddit inquired, “Has he confirmed that it’s live-action? I could see him voicing Norman Osborn in Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man,”in reference to actor Giancarlo Esposito’s role in the MCU, the question was raised.

In response to the post, a different user commented, “This might be it. Maybe when he wrote ‘original character,’ he meant it as a unique interpretation of them.”
In addition, Osborn’s name was mentioned in other comments, including one from a user who stated, “He would be a great choice for the role of Green Goblin/Norman Osborn, the perfect kind of villain for him.”
It was speculated by many that he would assume the role through animation in the upcoming Spider-Man: Freshman Year series, set to be released in 2024.
During a recent discussion, one individual suggested, “Could it possibly be Norman Osborn and Spider-Man: Freshman Year?”They also mentioned that Giancarlo Esposito would be an ideal choice for the role of Norman Osborn. The animated version of the character already bears a resemblance to him. As Norman is a crucial and longstanding character in the Spider-Man universe, it would be beneficial for the Marvel Cinematic Universe to include an MCU version of him, especially if they plan on producing six more Spider-Man films. While Willem Dafoe did an excellent job as the Green Goblin, Giancarlo could focus on portraying the more human side of Norman Osborn’s character.

There are a few hints that hint at fans possibly being correct. Doctor Doom has been the subject of much speculation as well, but given the multitude of MCU fans who have already made their guesses, Esposito’s comment about it being an “unpredictable role”eliminates this possibility. Furthermore, this could also indicate that he will make an appearance in an unconventional manner.
