ADOR’s Intervention in Hong Kong
Following a recent court ruling that upheld NJZ’s exclusive contract with ADOR, the agency took measures to provide additional support by dispatching staff to assist the group during their event in Hong Kong. However, NJZ (NewJeans) members reportedly declined any interaction with the ADOR representatives, emphasizing their steadfast position against the agency’s influence.

Notably, ADOR’s personnel were unable to meet NewJeans in person. While the group participated in the event with their staff, it remains a mystery as to who was actually accompanying them during the performance.
Performance Under the NJZ Moniker
During their much-anticipated performance in Hong Kong, NewJeans surprised fans by taking the stage under the name “NJZ, ”opting not to perform any of their established tracks and instead introducing a new song.

In conjunction with their performance, the group announced a temporary suspension of their activities. After performing their new track, they addressed the audience with the message, “This may be our last stage for a while. We respect the court’s decision and have decided to suspend our activities.”

ADOR’s Response to Suspension
This surprising announcement allegedly took ADOR by surprise, as they were not informed about NJZ’s decision to cease activities. On March 24, the agency released an official statement addressing NewJeans’ actions, expressing disappointment that the group proceeded with their performance under a name different from NewJeans, especially in light of the court’s ruling, and unilaterally declared a pause in their activities.
The agency added, “We are committed to supporting NewJeans in line with our valid exclusive contract, and we hope to meet with the artists soon to discuss future plans.”
