On August 30th, an ADOR representative informed MyDaily that Min Hee-jin’s term as an internal director would expire on November 1st. Therefore, the contract was sent to cover her role for the remaining period. Any future contracts would be discussed at the time of renewal.
The representative clarified the purpose of the termination clause mentioned by Min Hee-jin’s team, stating that it serves as a necessary safeguard against potential harm to the company’s management in case the producer fails to fulfill her duties. Given Min Hee-jin’s position, the contract was drafted in a manner consistent with those used for other executives, and including such clauses is standard practice in delegation agreements.
The representative further emphasized that in the event of any disagreements regarding the contract terms, the appropriate course of action would be to address them with ADOR’s board of directors instead of making a public announcement.
On August 28th, ADOR board chairman Kim Joo-young sent a contract titled “Delegation Contract”to Min Hee-jin, according to her legal representative at Sejong Law Firm. However, they claimed that the terms were unreasonable and heavily biased, making it difficult to comprehend from a logical standpoint.
Min Hee-jin’s representatives highlighted that the delegation contract had a specified duration of only two months and six days, starting from August 27th, 2024 and ending on November 1st, 2024. Additionally, they raised concerns about the presence of “harmful clauses”that granted ADOR the power to terminate the contract without consent. As a result, they concluded that signing the contract was not a viable option.
On August 27th, Min Hee-jin was removed from her position as CEO by ADOR’s board, but she remained an internal director. The new CEO of ADOR is Kim Joo-young, who became a part of HYBE in 2022 as the Chief Human Resources Officer.
